Wonderful hotel, beautiful views and amazing food (10/10) There are public onsens on site and are tattoo friendly. I would recommend calling ahead and using the hotel shuttle up and down to the station. It is a steep hill to climb with luggage. Cannot recommend enough

Good to stay for a traditional Japanese onsen and bedroom experience. Staff very friendly. If you prefer western style room amenities you may not enjoy. The property and rooms are dated and in need of some renovation even if keeping in traditional Japanese style.

The hotel was really nice, the hot tub in the room was great, we did not use the public baths so I cannot comment on them. Food was great, good variety and exceptional service. The only negative thing was the towels in the room were very bad, thread bare and worn, totally different than everything else at the hotel.

This is gorgeous hotel. The staff are so kind, courteous and attentive. My room was spacious, with comfortable bed, stunning mountain views, and of course the Japanese heated toilet seat which is a luxury! The food was delicious. I ate both breakfast and dinner in the hotel restaurant and every little dish was so fresh, interesting and served like beautiful art. The onsen baths are wonderful and relaxing and I enjoyed the sauna as well. Short 10 min walk to the little town center and train station. I liked being away from the shopping street. I felt so taken care of and would definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were amazing! My family and I felt like kings and queens. The property is charming, clean, private and well taken care of. This hotel booking included half board. We requested our special needs and we were extremely happy with the meal preparation and presentation. The public bath/onsen was good and so was the private onsen in the room. The transportation was timely and staff even helped us to load and unload our luggage. Overall very happy with stay and will recommend this hotel to the guests who want to experience upscale japanese hotel experience.

We stayed for one night at Aura Tachibana, and our arrival from Osaka was unfortunately delayed by 3 hours due to a tsunami but we informed the hotel ahead of time and they were very accommodating. The kaiseki dinner was amazing, so much food and beautifully presented. It was served in the restaurant (not in the rooms) with a lovely view of the mountains. Our room had a private onsen which was great to have
