This hotel has a good seafood buffet breakfast as well as a free sight seeing bus. If you’d like to go the night viewing of Mt. Hakodate on the free bus, you need to reserve for the weekends, well in advance. We went for the sunset viewing only on the free bus. Very friendly and staff. The coin laundry was easy to use and cashless. There is also a very convenient grocery store behind the hotel and a few minutes from the Hakodate train station.

We had a lovely stay! Great, clean and spacious room. Hotel onsen allows tattoos which was the biggest factor in booking! But the onsen has odd closing hours for such a large hotel making it pretty busy during our stay. We’re accustomed to hotel onsens being closed only 2-3hours a day but at OMO5 it’s closed for more than 6 hours a day.. other than this, we loved the hotel

City Tour Shuttle Bus

Hotel provided a complimentary daily shuttle bus to the major attractions of Hakodate. Located within walking distance from Hakodate Station. Room was clean & new-looking. Pyjamas & quality toiletries were provided but no moisturiser. Hotel was very rigid with check-in time. We arrived a couple of hours early & the front desk wouldn’t entertain us - rather unsympathetic given the wintry conditions outside

We are going to start our review a little differently this time. We are rating this a strong 4.5/5: the hotel was a different experience for our other Northern Japan ones: the room with its furnishings was creative by using the theme of exploring & discovering Hakodate: really well done. Our room was big enough for the two of us with a lovely king bed, chairs, a table, bench, fridge & unlimited accessories to be had, like their green tea which you could pick up downstairs. We didn’t get to have a meal in-house as there were so many wonderful eating experiences to be had on the streets & markets. TIP: there is a large grocery store just around the corner: magnificent! We went there many times: their bakery food is devine. The hotel has a free shuttle bus which will take you to all sorts of places at designated times during the day & night: make sure you book it quickly: it fills up quickly. Remember that you are in Japan; when they say a bus, train, etc will leave at a specific time, it does, not earlier nor later. We were up on 11th floor of 13, with a brilliant night view over Hakodate Harbour: before we forget, the shower room is amazing: you can have a shower whilst viewing out the big windows: very private & a nice touch. Also, the facilities are amazing: great places to relax in out of your room, with one part having food/drink sales. Really well set out. The hotel is very central to everything. Newly Launched Hotel on 6 July 2024

About 5mins walk from Hakodate station to hotel. Check in time is 3pm and If you arrives early, they have storage locker to store the bags on a first come first basis. Hotel provides free shuttle bus to those sightseeing places but you need to book the seat reservation using their hotel app. Room is slightly small.
