The 5 Star Rental that WASN'T
Booking/Registration; lots of extra paperwork. Errors in our reservation; difficult o resolve
Had o wait in line for almost 1/2 hr to enter the resort AND pay parking fees!
At the rental the covered walkway was leaking
There's a fireplace. There is no wood. You have to call for someone to bring wood, at $10 a pop...in a storm...at night.
Main TV...volume wouldn't go above a whisper, even with a blue tooth speaker attached. DVD player and stereo; not hooked up, missing wires, adapters. DVD library; missing the DVDs.
Ant infestation in the master shower. Hot water ran short in the second bathroom, more than once. A pair of girls underwear in the closet (from a previous tenant?)
Fridge ice maker; broken. A ladle had old food stuck to it. Several chipped cups and glasses, some dangerously so, as slivers on the glasses were near-invisible.
"Game" Room; freezing cold, no heat, no insulation
- Pinball machine - 1 flipper not working
- Foosball table - bars wouldn't spin freely
- Jukebox - broken
- A ping-pong table - ok, but slanted
After our stay, the Yosemite Resorts rep asked how our stay was. I shared our disappointments. apologized, acknowledged that the owner was known for poor upkeep.
Upon return home, I contacted RedAwning. After a few go-rounds, they said the owner would do nothing, and gave us $150 refund (on a >$1,200 rental) in what they seemed to think of as a generous offering.
Do not recommend!
