“A very cute place to stay in a lovely market town. Parking nearby (free on Sundays and overnight). Access to the rooms, due to the nature of the historic building, is not the easiest (uneven floors, narrow corridors and stairs). “Very dated rooms & uncomfortable beds no air conditioning or fan. Breakfast only available 8.30 -9 am even though the information card in the room states 8.30-9.30, was told this is only at weekends? So why doesn’t information card state this? Two of us went for breakfast after 9 and was refused. Chef was only able to make a bacon sandwich. Coffee was thick and gloopy and undrinkable . “The beds were amazing”

“This hotel is very good with excellent amenities. The issues that we had to come to terms were: the room we stayed in with window facing the passage way and noises from the people seating outside; the parking spaces were very tight and limited.”

“Overall this hotel suited our needs as we were visiting Colchester Zoo. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The air conditioner in our room did not cool properly.”
