The Highland Lodge was gorgeous! The room was very clean and had everything we could ask for. Breakfast was freshly prepared, had several great options, and was so, so yummy! The view from the room was also beautiful, as was the entire property. I could not recommend this place more.
Our stay at the Highland Lodge was such a delight. It was perfectly remote but not too far from the nearest towns to pop into. I can see this place flourishing during all the seasons. They have really curated the cozy vibe here from the warm lighting, to the soft music, to the comfy decor in all the communal areas. It was all wonderful. We did not dine-in for dinner but the breakfast was lovely with plenty of options. The exterior of the lodge has the perfect amount of entertainment options. We took the short walk down to the beautiful lake and hiked the trail that went from the lodge to Barr Hill. The hike was very whimsical and worth a try if staying here. Overall, great experience. Would absolutely recommend!
The lodge and its surroundings were beautiful, and the staff was very kind. However, the room name didn’t match what was listed on the itinerary. There were flies in the room throughout the entire stay, and the toilet wasn’t working properly. A notice explained that, because we were in an older room, a space heater was required—but even with it, the room stayed cold. For the price, the stay wasn’t worth it despite the friendly staff and lovely setting.

Room was uncomfortable in July with no AC and only a tiny window fan. No TV in room. Difficult to sleep. Otherwise quiet and pretty surroundings.
The property is old and quirky which we enjoyed.
There is lovely scenery and enjoyable walks on the doorstep.
Food in the restaurant was good although options were limited as it was the last evening before a seasonal closure.
The reception staff were awesome! Personable and helpful. The dining staff not so much. Breakfast was good and the main reason I selected the place. Dining options are limited. The bed was kind of hard and the pillows mushy. The location is beautiful. It seems like a good family place, not so good for older people.
The owner is fantastic and the service is great! A wonderful community feel. Great destination for a family vacation or just a quiet get-a-way. There were also fun things going on in their bar, but we didn't participate because we were traveling with a toddler. It's an old farmhouse with a lot of character, and the rooms are very clean. Owner cooks a great breakfast!

Belle vieille maison, chambres spacieuses.
