Vacations Close To Grand Marais Golf 'n' Stuff

The Lakeshore Inn was very clean, room was updated, bathrom was updated. My one nightbstaybwas fantastic and the room price was very good. Great hotel for a comfortable place to sleep when out of town.

Hot tub very nice!

The clerk was not particularly personable or communicative. During the check-in process he claimed that my payment had been declined, even though I had paid for my room more than two weeks in advance and was able to prove this to him with the hotels.com receipt and the entry in my banking app for the transaction, and it took more than twenty minutes for him to be willing to give me my key card because there was a connection issue with something related to the computer/printer, even though I had explained to him I needed to quickly check in and then head to an event half an hour away that started in less than an hour and which would end after the check-in window closed.

One elevator was out. Hot tub was empty (big part of choice). Room looked "not dirty, not clean." Bedding was clean. Tub did not drain properly - had to stop the shower repeatedly to let it drain. Toilet was VERY LOW and seat was thin, cheap, flimsy plastic. Parking was free, but in a back lot with a long walk (I have walking issues, some handicap). Two (filled) handicap spots. Breakfast ("free") was minimal and a LONG walk from room.

The hotel is undergoing renovation, so lacking in some amenities. Room was ok, but needs better lighting. Bathroom was ok, but shower floors were slippery when wet. We requested a bath mat and that helped. Limited breakfast selections. Staff was friendly and helpful and location was perfect for our hiking trip.
