Staff were helpful and friendly. Having a pub/restaurant was convenient and the menu was good value. The property was older and the rooms need to be updated with sufficient plugs and sockets for today’s devices. Bathrooms small for a family room with kids making it cramped and awkward to manoeuvre but serviceable.

The hotel has seen wear and tear. The hallways could use better lighting and smells of carpet deodorizers. The building is starting to look shabby and dated. The room is adequate with a good bed and pillows. The staff was helpful and courteous. Check in was easy. For the price during our holiday we got better experience in the overall quality and maintenance of the hotel for less money in Newfoundland including St. John’s.

This hotel needs major renovations to the point it would not be worth the money. The restaurant/bar had fantastic food and great staff everywhere. The rooms have not been renovated since probably the 80’s. Heat lamps in the showers. Linoleum flooring peeling in every corner. Rooms were relatively clean but most of the outlets didn’t work. Hard to charge a phone.

I was disappointed with my stay at this hotel. To start with the positives, the staff were friendly, pleasant, and helpful, and I enjoyed the food at the restaurant. Unfortunately, those positives did not outweigh my concerns about the overall value of the property. While every traveler's experience may differ, I found the hotel to be quite outdated, both in the common areas and inside the room. There was also a noticeable odor in the room and throughout the hallway, which seemed as though it might have been coming from the older carpeting. The condition and décor of the property left it feeling worn and in need of updating. Overall, I was relieved that I was only staying for one night. Although the staff made a positive impression.

Room was very clean and staff were very accommodating. Had originally requested 2 Queen beds but needed a room with no stairs so room needed to be downgraded to older section with 2 double beds. The beds were comfortable and my request for additional pillows was quickly taken care of. I was also accommodated for a hour late checkout ( which thankfully I didn’t need) . Just missed the little things like plugins, pen and paper and hotel list with information and menu.
