The inn is very historic and the sitting areas by the river are wonderful. They are very dog friendly and you will get to meet the two resident dogs.

Cozy and Relaxing

Lovely, sweet inn and so close to downtown Glen Rose. Welcoming and friendly staff. The cool breezes under the shade trees near the water were the perfect place to sit and read or just watch the water go by. Staff was so accomodating and helpful. Rooms were large and quiet.

Amazing staff

The staff was very friendly and welcoming. It felt more like a B&B than a hotel. We were there for a hiking event as were many other guests. The staff went above and beyond with a special breakfast served earlier than the normal breakfast hours.

An absolutely delightful stay. Very well behaved four legged hosts, and a charming two legged innkeeper! The food is outstanding and there is a game and puzzle closet available, that also includes a few books. A word of advice: the stairs to the second floor are in excellent condition, but if climbing stairs isn’t for you - request a downstairs room. We were unaware of this when making our reservation, but they were able to move us to a ground-level room. Highly recommend

Love the history of this Inn

what a great place to stay so centrally located in the middle of the main street of Glen Rose. Very friendly staff, very comfortable and homey, the backyard right on the river is amazing. But it is an inn, built I think in the early 1900s. Therefore if you are on the second floor you are going to be going up the stairs. Something to think about for older people, or if you have a lot of luggage.

Staff was amazing. They were so friendly, they made us feel like family. They breakfast was amazing. The Inn was beautiful and had such lovely historical touches. The bed was so comfortable. Loved getting to have some puppy lovings in the morning with our coffee before breakfast.

Historic Getaway

Very nice and quiet location. Excellence place to unwind. Room was a comfortable size. We stayed in the Garden Suite which offered a nice sunroom facing the river. Very friendly staff. Town Square is a short walk about 2 or 3 blocks. Love the historical feel.

Gem of a place

This gem on the Paluxy River was a delight Relaxing and extremely dog friendly with the most gracious of hosts. Breakfast every morning was a delight and the tavern/restaurant was outstanding! No tv in the small rooms but it was not missed and there’s WiFi if you must. The town of Glen Rose is quaint and lovely. So if you find yourself looking for a place to stay in the area, I’d definitely recommend Inn OnThe River.

Highly recommend this place. A charming inn with a peaceful view of and access to the river. Beautiful old trees and lots of places outside to enjoy. The room was clean. Bed and shower outstanding. The included breakfast is like no other we’ve experienced. We were waited on at our table with river view and the food was amazing. Almost has a bed & breakfast feel. Also has a tavern with wonderful food.
