Loved the authentic Viking ship experience. Loved that they let us go to the top of the ship. Staff seemed a bit brusque and didn't speak any English, pushing us to leave exactly 11am when ill, having made us wait to change to the new room for the longest possible time. Very late check-in compared to the early check-out

The Viking boat was lovely, the room was clean, easy check-in, we were late due to the flight being delayed, had to call the phone, which was on reception to get our key card, which was no issue. Breakfast was lovely and highly recommended. I wish we had, had more time there. I will definitely book again.

AMAZING!! Love the decorations, cabine/boat vibe, cosy and very clean cabine/room. Great and very functional bathroom/toilet. Breakfast was great and good variety of food. Easily accessed location and short walking distance to the main areas. The only thing is that I have not seen anyone at the reception but they have a phone at the entrance for any issues.

We stayed here for two separate nights, enjoyed both stays very unique experience, other than on second night there was a broken flashing light outside, i slept through it but my husband struggled, there is lots of unique features to this ship that you can go round and explore, we even went up on top deck and had a walk around. Beds are comfy, Great location for everything in gothenburg city, near to shops bus station and train stations, what more could you ask for

Well where do we start , first of all on arrival check in is a joke , no one speaks English and just about speaks Swedish. Had to wait for our room to be ready for us, staff unhelpful and lack of staff working. When we booked our stay we see that there was supposed to be tea and coffee in communal areas and there's nothing. Not even a vending machine to get a drink. There is also supposed to be a Bar and restaurant, but that was closed without any signs. The upper deck outside is closed to guests. The whole ship is dirty and in desperate need of renovation it just looks like a complete mess. The so called breakfast buffet is a joke, very limited to what you can get. Please do not book a stay here , you will be very disappointed, we were 😡.

Here’s what you need to know: -the price reflects that this is not a fancy place -the ship lists hard to the side, which can be jarring -there is a decent basic breakfast -the shared bathrooms don’t look great; pay a little more to get your own bathroom I’ve stayed here several times because it’s a budget place I can stay while I’m in Gothenburg alone or with a friend. I expect that if the price is significantly lower, there’s a reason, and I accept that. Check in is weird the first time because you’ll do it via their land line, but it’s actually pretty easy. The breakfast person was super nice and attentive, too.

One of the standout features of this hotel is that it is actually a ship, which adds a unique charm and a touch of adventure to the stay. The location is superb, as it is within walking distance from the city center, making it easy to explore all the local attractions. Additionally, being right next to the ferry terminal made it incredibly convenient for us to get around. The breakfast was okay and provided a decent start to the day, though it didn't stand out as particularly exceptional. However, there was one significant downside to our stay. Despite placing a request for room cleaning on our door, our room was not cleaned for the entire three days of our stay. This was quite disappointing and impacted our overall comfort.

Sämsta hotellet vi besökt! Urusel personal som varken ville eller hade förmåga att bemöta gäster på ett professionellt sätt. De gemensamma duscharna och toaletterna var smutsiga och väldigt ofräscha. Bedrövligt att män och kvinnor delar det utrymmett, så otryggt. Vi kommer aldrig mer tillbaka och definitivt inte rekommendera att bo på Barken Viking. Ett under att det får kallas hotell!!

Point positif : - C'est un chouette endroit insolite, et spacieux - Situé dans un endroit très calme. - Propre dans l'ensemble Point négatif : - Pas de réception ! la réception est un téléphone. Quelqu'un vous dit d'ouvrir un petit coffre noir sur le côté qui n'était même pas fermé à clé, dans lequel il y avait les cartes de chambre de toutes les personnes qui doivent faire leur check in. autant dire que si quelqu'un est mal intentionné, il se servira comme bon lui semble ! - Buffet petit dej est loin d'être un buffet digne de ce nom. Ne soyez vraiment pas difficile pour déjeuner sinon vous ne mangerez rien du tout. Il y a du jambon qui se bat avec du fromage, 2 céréales entre eux et c'est tout. - Au déjeuner, il y a eu 2 dames : le week-end une dame typée, très sèche dans son allure, dans ses paroles, toutefois elle remplit et débarrasse rapidement. l'autre elle, brasse de l'air. Elle attend que le temps passe, et ne fais absolument rien du tout ! ni débarrasser, ni remplir. Rien de rien. - Le bateau est vide, il n'y a personne, il n'y pas d'ambiance, il n'y a rien de rien. - Pas de bar, pas de restaurant, le soir si vous rentrez tôt, vous n'aurez rien à faire puisqu'il n'y a rien. - Il y a des escaliers qui mènent au pont supérieur de bateau, et vous ne pouvez pas aller visiter l'extérieur. Vous restez sagement, dans votre chambre. - En parlant de propreté, les dames qui nettoient, ne nettoient pas votre chambre pendant votre séjour.
