Upon first entering the room. Lights in the entranceway would flicker multiple times before turning on to reveal a dim light. Showerhead wouldn’t sit straight would keep turning to one direction. e.g face the wall on its own or the shower door. Dishes were dirty as I assume they are cleaned by the previous tenants without the hotel checking if they were clean or not. TV came with movies but it would be extremely laggy, majority of the times the screen going black or an error code of “video stopped” live TV worked fine. Images of the room we payed for were different and more luxurious than what we actually got so be aware. But the room itself is fine it has the basic essentials you need, towels, dishwashing liquids, laundry liquid, body lotion, shampoo, conditioner (small bottles). View from the 13th floor was beautiful overlooking the city and the nearby river. Access to shared pool, spa, and sauna which was good. And a gym. Overall 6.5-7/10

There were stains on the carpet when we first arrived aswell as sauce on the balcony wall. The amenities like the frying pan where broken aswell as a lack of a flipper for the pan.2 large ladels where provided but they were not useful when it came to things like eggs and pan cakes. There was also no vent in the bathroom and if you are staying for multiple days it risks mould growing so we had to open the balcony and bathroom door in hopes of avoiding that. The bed was made nicely and the room smelt ok.Staff where helpful when it came to providing toilet paper and bin bags

The receptionist was incredibly friendly and very lovely. The room was superficially clean but unseen areas were very dusty and dirty. There was a room next door to mine with an outer door that kept being unlocked. The room next door to mine therefore was able to access my room with their key. I’m pretty sure this happened as my passport was moved and bent. Very unsafe. I was unaware that there were pets allowed and also that some rooms had permanent residents in them. It was ideally located next to the beach and tram line, but I did not feel safe there. I had to put a chair under the door handle while I was asleep.

Terrible customer service here. We stayed for an entire weekend, flew to gold coast, a special 50th trip. Reception cant be contacted at all. Had to ask expedia to help me sort issues out. Which expedia tried. Still no help from Ipanema. Ipanema Holiday Resort refused to even speak to me about the lack of service, lack of tea coffee basics, lack of towels to use facilities and when its a rainy weekend, you are leftto buy your own, or wash n dry theirs. This is not a resort..more like backpacker service.. dont stay here. Worst customer service ever and ive been travelling for 30yrs. Yuck!
