Lady was nice checking in. Unfortunately when we got to the room it was like they had placed a bed in a storage room. The bed looked old, marks all over walls & furniture, the makeshift cupboard looked like something out of the tip. The room had a door out onto the balcony which faced the main road which could be nice if it had some sort of curtain which would provide privacy and as the room was so tiny there was no privacy in the whole room. Left just after 8.30am, noone at reception to give feedback to.
I enjoyed my stay the showers were clean the dorms with aircon was affordable and staff were very happy to help me.they allowed me to store my luggage when they booked out
Room was double booked so had to drive 15km to get another hotel. Wotif took online booking. Not Coolangatta Sands fault. Duty Manager was very professional.
Fabulous location. Small but tidy rooms. Great share chef kitchen and brand new share bathrooms. The balcony is amazing. Bit noisy, as to be expected, at night and the corridors very shabby. No complaints for price and location.
Attentive staff and terrific location however: very noisy. No lift to accomodation. Squeaky beds. Bring your own locks and Flip Flops. Dirty floors. Rooms with Doors onto Balcony do not lock. Automatic door on stairwell slammed my finger. Overall a very rough night... made up for it with a really lovely barramundi and vegetables in the cafe.
Beautiful hotel nice atmosphere need to work on clean sheets, towels and blankets though.

Probaby over-priced
Facilities basic but ok. Main issue was uncontrolled noise from communal areas such as TV room etc. Also noise from other rooms and shared verandah. Only one step above a backpackers.

For a backpackers over a pub, this was good. Nice kitchen and a great balcony. Staff were great. Small room but the sheets were clean and the a/c quiet. Friday night and security staff were active, and welcome to humans of Coolangatta, but everyone was friendly and the covers band was pretty good. Thumbs down to the shared bathrooms / toilets, which were in a reasonably bad condition, cracked, dirty and wet, with dodgy locks.
The hotel runs a bar downstairs that plays extremely loud music until 2am and it is that loud, it is like it is being played in the room next to you. It echos through the entire accomodation. I do not recommend staying here
