Hotel is in a Bad Shape but Staff is very friendly

The hotel is not in a good state. It is not clean and needs several renovations to be done. The AirCon was very loud and the rooms smelled like smoke. There was a lot of noise in the hotel and we could hear people in other rooms watching videos in the middle of the night. The staff gave their absolute best to provide us with good service during our stay, which is the only reason why we didn‘t switch hotels.

Staff was friendly, breakfast was really good. The only part we did not like was their technique of housekeeping. Yes, the room was cleaned well, but there was a rule that there had the be a 3 day gap between cleanings. Second part was time of cleaning, it would not be done while we were out of the room during the day. By the time we returned in the afternoon, either the room cleaning was still being done where we had to wait in the lobby or the cleaning would not have even started.
