We really enjoyed our stay at 1898 The Post. We stayed in a "Postcard" room, which was small but comfortable and very charmingly decorated. I don't know if all the Postcard rooms are laid out the same way, but ours had the shower/bathroom sink in an upstairs loft area, and the toilet in a separate small closet downstairs near the bed and desk. This was not a problem for us, but might be for others who have difficulty with stairs. Very convenient location near the Gravensteen Castle. We didn't avail ourselves of the breakfast, but we did have a drink in The Cobbler bar, which was very nice! The staff was very friendly and professional. Would recommend this hotel and Ghent generally to anyone visiting Belgium!

Lovely, centrally located hotel in a beautiful historic building in the very centre of Ghent. The hotel is well furnished in a style complimenting its age, the breakfast was very nice and bedroom, although on the small side was well appointed. the staff were very professional, helpful and pleasant, I would happily return and recommend it to any future guests.

Magical hotel experience

A very magical stay at this fantastic hotel. The small touches at check-in were very well-received by us. The 'Letter' room was very nicely furnished. The cocktail bar is one of the best we had experienced. The location is excellent for exploring Ghent. I would certainly stay here again if i return to Ghent
