If you are looking for charm this is the place to stay. We stayed in the newly renovated part of the building and was just amazed at the decor. You walk right out the door on the main canal. If you are driving and using google map very hard to find, because of the canal and it being below the street. The front desk young men was just so helpful and friendly. Would stay there again just perfect.

The Post and Porter's House is in a great location and is within walking distance of two tram stops. The staff was very friendly and helpful whenever we had a question. The rooms are beautifully decorated, very clean and comfortable. We would definitely return to this hotel if we are in the area again.

1898 The Post is a beautifully restored 19th-century post office, perfectly located in the heart of Ghent’s historic old town. From the moment we arrived, Amy made us feel genuinely welcome, providing a warm introduction to the hotel, a helpful orientation to our room, and excellent recommendations to make the most of our short stay. Our room was elegant and comfortable, and while the bed was a little narrower than we would have preferred, we still enjoyed a good night’s sleep. What truly made this hotel memorable, however, was the outstanding service. Every member of the team was friendly, attentive, and genuinely committed to ensuring guests had a wonderful experience. A charming heritage hotel in an unbeatable location, made even better by hospitality. Highly recommended.

Our room was lovely if not a little noisy from the public outside as our room was located at the front. The noisy however did strip around midnight. The amenities at the hotel were great and the staff were very helpful, attentive and always smiling. It was our anniversary and they organised a balloon, bottle of sparkling wine and a Belgium waffle in our room on arrival. The honestly bar was a relaxing space. We would definitely visit again

This hotel was SO COOL! We splurged for the one room with the private balcony overlooking the church and square. What a unique experience! The staff was so friendly and made us feel so welcome. They even helped us find dinner reservations for a restaurant that was fully booked. It felt like VIP treatment, and I got the impression they treated everyone that way. Excellent service! We really liked the bar there as well. It was beautiful and the drinks were excellent.

Great location and a great vibe consistent with the historic town setting. Hotel has a first class bar and breakfast was very good. It is a unique hotel with the shower and bathroom sink built in a loft above the main bedroom with the toilet area on the first floor. Outside noise is a little loud as well but overall would highly recommend this place.
