Simple, comfortable accommodation

I did find my fan room a bit noisy because the windows weren't glazed, so I upgraded to an AC room. I enjoyed my stay.

Julians Guest house has been there for many years and is in a great location for when you want to explore Georgetown. Julian is a great host and is ever so glad to help and even has a karaoke Fridays too boot. My brother and I would come back again without a doubt.

Hello fellow travelers! Well let’s get right to it. This property is not for the faint of heart. Upon booking on Expedia and arriving at the property the property will expect for you to pay them directly. However if you have American dollars whatever is agreed to on Expedia will be honored however if you are paying in Guyanese Dollars do not expect to pay the bank rate nor the “cambio” rate. My US dollar price was $45 and I so happen to have Guyanese Dollars. They wanted 9900 Guyanese dollars which was at a rate of 220 GYD to 1 US dollar. The bank rate was at this time 209 GYD to 1 US dollar and the street cambio rate was 238 to 1 US dollar. The room was a “backpackers” room. Meaning no A/c . If you are accustomed to the heat then you will be fab with the standup fan provided. However there is a mosquito net provided for your bed as there are mosquitos. You get what you pay for Although this is not worth $45. It is worth $25 dollars and this why I rated this stay a 1 star. Also the check in clerk was rather rude as he was very concerned about his electrical lock on his exterior gate. I was yelled at several times because I was not able to secure the gate properly and he was not patient at all. Would I stay here again ? Absolutely not - even if it was listed at $10 a night. There was a nice lady that recommended restaurants close by but the gentleman was very rude and not courteous. He should not yell at guests because his gate doesn’t work well.

Overall, this is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed. First of all, the entire place is dirty, dusty. As I walked in, the building was still under construction and big noise ( chain saw) was heard day and night. The sheet was visibly covered with dirt and I had to ask them to replace with new one. The bottom of shower divider was covered with a thick lay of black, moldy stains Secondary, I reserved a large room with 50% more pay, however they assigned me a tiny room with single bed Mostly important is: they charged me extra 8% on top of originally priced amounts for credit card payment. The amount was $195 as I placed the order, however as I was checking into the hotel, I was asked to pay $211. This is absurd because on the Expedia website, they never mentioned that there will be extra fees for credit card payments, besides, 8% is just ridiculous. I have all the receipts kept and am happy to provide them if needed. Please don’t do business with this place, it will ruin your vacation

It was in the backpackers room. A simple room bed a small desk and a bathroom. No hot water the window was by the entrance to another property so ppl can be seen walking back and forth the shower leaked so the water came on the ground into the room. Nobody was at the property when I got there around 11am
