What a beautiful place to stay, seeped in history, right in the heart of the old town. We had a fantastic time with friendly staff, a clean, comfortable, air conditioned room. Some of the smaller ally streets can feel a little unsafe but if you stick to the main ones it was great :)

Great place to stay in a historic building right in the heart of Genoa. 5 minutes from the port and Cathedral. Tons of good places to eat nearby, and a great hotel!

Great location in the old town area. Taxi can’t get to the front of hotel. It’s a 5 minute walk from drop off. But well worth it.

Beautifully restored palazzo in the center of old town. From the lobby to the room to the other common areas, the feel, decor and design was stunning. Service was generally excellent as well. Great location from which to explore all the Old Town sites and get lost in the maze of alleys. Gran Ristoro, a phenomenal, tiny sandwich shop is a three-minute walk away and a must visit for foodies. There isn’t any parking in the Old Town, but there is convenient self-parking a few minutes walk away at the port. We would definitely choose Palazzo Grillo again if we return to Genoa.

We loved the Palazzo Grillo. Yes, it is a registered UNESCO World Heritage site and a wonderfully restored hotel that seamlessly blends a palazzo built in 1545 with 21st-century conveniences. A superb breakfast on the top floor, a beautiful relaxation library on the second floor, and nicely placed in the old quarter of Genova, at the Piazza delle Vigne. Palazzo Grillo is located in the pedestrian zone of the town center, making access by car impossible. We enjoy walking, so the 5-minute walk with our luggage from the closest parking garage (Marina Porto Antico) to the town center was no problem. Be sure to follow the directions from the hotel. Certain taxis can take you close to the hotel, resulting in a shorter walk. The labyrinth of alleys in the old part of town is worth your trip--a cultural wonder. Expect excellent service from the staff.

Amazing Palazzo stay

We had an amazing stay, the hotel's 16th century architecture is amazing! The retrofitting of modern amenities make the rooms very convenient. It's such an elegant place in the middle of the Genoa historical city center surrounded by shopping and restaurants. I would recommend this hotel and would love to stay in again.

Nice hotel in fun city center area. A bit pricey and a bit confusing to find with gps, but walkable area once there. Comfortable room, although a bit small. Nice minibar and bath amenities.

Had to carry our luggage’s to two different flight of stairs going to our room and was too difficult to maneuver our big luggages. Not accessible to vans or transpo, you have to walk to the hotel about 4 minutes.

Staff were very helpful. It would be nice if the directions stated that taxis can and should take you to Piazza Campetto. Our cab dropped us off several blocks away making it confusing and difficult to find the property. That was the fault of irresponsible taxi driver, but it would have helped to know we should have been dropped off at that Piazza.

This hotel is in such a cool part of Genoa. It is not accessible by car. You have to walk through many alleyways down a hill to get to it. It’s deeply embedded in one of the most beautiful parts of the city. This area had everything from pharmacies to five star restaurants. Our hotel had a beautiful view. The staff were kind and we had all the amenities that we needed. The staff was very helpful when we needed accommodations for our car. They were very knowledgeable about the area and spoke fantastic English. We will definitely be returning to this property when we visit again, and we truly appreciated how we were treated. The rooms are beautiful. further, there is a beautiful rooftop with seating and meals offered. The cost of the meal is very low for the high quality of food that you got. They had omelettes, fruit, desserts, beverages, great coffee. The view is stellar and it’s a very comfortable and quiet place. The hotel overall feels brand new, despite being in what appears to be a very historic building. I can’t emphasize enough how valuable it was to be so central. This hotel is definitely a gem.

This was my favourite place we stayed at while in Italy. The building was stunning and historic, while the rooms were modernized. Breakfast was simply incredible and the staff was warm and friendly. Highly recommend!!!

Je m'attendais à plus de standing pour un hôtel 4 étoiles. Coté extérieur il est peu visible près d'une église et uniquement de toutes petites ruelles (la vue des chambres est donc très réduite). il n'y a qu'un ascenseur pour 4 étages de chambres spacieuses. Les petits déjeuner sous forme de buffet sont gigantesques (mais si l'on a droit qu'à un seul jus d'orange pressé) au 5e et 2e etage. Les bons restaurants sont assez loin. Le métro le plus proche est place Ferrari (sans grand intérêt). Le personnel de l'hôtel ne parle que anglais ou italien.

Convenient location. Walkable to many attractions. Rooms are fine but staff and its service is the star. Everyone at the hotel were helpful and go beyond the normal to ensure a fantastic experience. One recommendation is once you’re in a taxi to the hotel; call the hotel to coordinate drop off location. Hotel is in a historic area with limited taxi access but the staff will help to secure your arrival.
