Nice hotel in the heart of Kiruna

The hotel is really good. Comfortable and friendly for families. My room was big enough for a double bed and a double sofa bed.

Almost perfect !

Lovely modern hotel, just lacking black tea & water just a couple of essentials in the room. Dinner downstairs was good. Sky Bar pleasant.

Nice hotel, clean and quaint. The whole town is amazing, the hotel is in their new downtown but the old downtown is just a quick bus ride away. I recommend their restaurant and breakfast buffet, all delicious food!

This hotel is a little pricey but it is convenient with the whole moving the town thing. There isn’t much to do in Kiruna outside of the tours/activities.

It is a short taxi ride from the Kiruna airport to the Scandia Kiruna Hotel. Once there, I was delighted to find that it was a pleasant walk to a number of shops...groceries, clothing, personal care, etc. The facility, itself, is very clean. The staff is welcoming. Very nice stay!

Friendly helpful staff. Good dinner in hotel restaurant. Nice breakfast buffet. Spacious attractive lobby. Clean room with most of the things one expects. The free shuttle from the train station stopped across the street from the hotel.

The hotel and the room were great. and breakfast and nice staff everywhere. But it is a bit "unusual" that you have to pay extra if you want to check in before 16:00

Wonderful stay. Clean, comfortable room. Restaurant was great. We particularly loved the sauna overlooking the city. Parking was a little hard to figure out - it's across the street, but takes a little to figure out. Also seems like too much light pollution in the immediate area to see the northern lights. Overall pleasant stay.

Great choice

Front desk employees were simply outstanding. We have a large family and visited at a busy time and they alerted us to arranging for taxis several days in advance and then calling to make the reservations for us. Brand new hotel. Skybar has great views. Breakfast buffet is excellent.

The hotel is awesome. Rooms 712 and 134 were very good. Heated bathroom floors, a BIG dining area and friendly staff. For European standards, the rooms were huge. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Great hotel - We will come back

Great hotel. Very friendly and serviceminded staff. The breakfast is amazing. We had the evening buffet the first day, and that was really good. The skybar is cool, but a little upgrade for snacks and small courses could be good. Sauna is a must in the afternoon.

Great place at the center of new Kiruna

Great place to stay for a night. The room was amazing with double-hight ceiling. The breakfast was tasty with loads of variety but dinner options were limited and the vegetarian option poorly made and seasoned.

It was an excellent hotel for our stay in Kiruna. We were really excited to check out sky bar but unfortunately it was closed for an event during our stay without notice so that was disappointing. They have a beautiful gym so don’t forget your workout gear!

This hotel is located in the new centre of Kiruna. Currently there are a few shops but not much else in the vicinity. This will change as the area is developed.

Practical choice of accomodation

Close to the airport in the new town. Quiet area with limited options for dining. Requires bus or taxi for sightseeing. Bus to/from airport just outside. Friendly staff. Very basic room amenities- no bath mat, no body lotion, no tissues, no slippers. Clean room. Minimal but palatable food choices at the restaurant buffet dinner.

Scandic kiruna hotel review

It was a beautiful stay with wonderful breakfast and dinner. The receptionists were super nice and friendly which also made it a pleasant stay. They interact with their customers and help them when they need it. As someone who is afraid of elevators I mostly took the stairs but there was one receptionist who was thoughtful and considerate and was very encouraging. One receptionist in particular who we saw the most was friendly and we really enjoyed our stay at Scandic Kiruna and her company. She was called Tilda and was funny, kind, respectful, encouraging, thoughtful and beautifully kind. She was the nicest receptionist we’ve ever met and this was definitely our favourite trip due to the hotel. So thank you Tilda and the rest of the receptionists at Scandic Kiruna

Amazing experience with a grand Skybar

We stayed at Scandic Kiruna two nights and had an amazing experience. Our room was spacious and decorated with beautiful furniture and items. The bathroom was large with skin products from Face Stockholm. The first evening we had dinner in the hotel restaurant, we were served delicious food based on local ingredients and traditions. The breakfast buffet was amazing too. The second evening we used the hotels gym and the sauna, both w panorama view over Kiruna and the mountains. Finally; we had cocktails in the Skybar two nights in a row. An absolutely amazing experience at a hotel that I fully recommend.

Not as cozy as it looks

The best thing about the hotel was the room that was nice and clean. The rest of the hotel was a bit disappointing. From looking at the pictures, I was looking forward to chilling in front of the fireplace with a hot chocolate in the afternoon or starting the day in the sauna. The reality is that the lobby is quite busy with people checking in all the time. Moreover, there is no fire in the fireplace, and the bar was out of cream and hot chocolate. The sauna was beautiful, but doesn’t open until 15.00 and is gender separated. Nice view from the skybar, but the vibe is quite tacky from drinks to selection of pop remixes.
