Schade um die schöne Lage

Schade um die schöne Lage! Das Hotel ist „am zerfallen“! Es funktioniert nur wenig (Safe lässt sich nicht öffnen, wifi funktioniert im Zimmer nicht, kein warmes Wasser usw.) Für diese „Leistung“ ist der Zimmerpreis massiv überteuert und kann auch nicht mit der schönen Lage gerechtfertigt werden.

Hotel fra forrige århunderede

Når man så tjenerstaben i restaurant var man i tvivl om man var tilbage i 1930'er eller måske 1950'erne - om indretningen var ligesådan. Generelt er kunne hotellet god trænge til lidt finish. De serverer udmærket frokost og faktisk også aftensmad. Men morgenmaden var noget sjusket og yoghurt og smørskåle så noget mistænkeligt nusset ud, som om de bare var skyllet i vand. (Vi er lidt i tvivl om det er årsag til diarre til mig efter 12 dage i Sri Lanka. Min hustru blev ikke ramt af dette men hun havde heller ikke fået yoghurt eller brugt smør) Fint lille pool område, men ikke meget at servicere med - tilsyneladende havde de ikke længere lov til at servere alkohol i baren. Alle var dog servicemindede. Bryllupsreception/fotografi hver af de 4 dage vi var der - så det lever sikkert af dette - eller kunne man som hotel direktør godt stramme noget op)

Olit vieras, palveltiin, oltiin ystävällisiä.

Menneen ajan tunnelmaa johon samastui, sinut huomioitiin kaikin tavoin ystävällisyydellä.Alue kertoi omaaa historiaa.Uima-allas alue rauhaisa ja miellyttävä, ajan patinoimana.Hotelli omanlaisensa mutta viihtyisä. Oli hyvä nukkua puhtaissa liinavaatteissa ja hyvässä vuoteessa. Tämä hotelli todella erilainen poiketen tavanomaisesta ja sijainti ihan sopiva.

This is an older hotel and with old world charm.. the room was very clean and the infinity pool tho older was still beautiful.. drinks by the pool were not overly priced . The view was fantastic and the staff were very helpful.

Amazing views and service

Whilst the hotel is a little tired and need of a makeover, it is great value for money. The included breakfast was excellent and we had dinner there 2 nights, it was good and not expensive. The staff are excellent and always ready to please. The rooms are fair, the beds are actually quite comfortable and mosquito nets and air con are provided. The balcony views are amazing and the pool is perfectly situated over the cliff. We could hang around here all day and not bother to leave. A great location for surfers and you can paddle straight into the ocean from the hotel. The surf was small and would suits beginners. There is a surf school on the beach nearby. It is just a quick tuktuk ride into Galle to explore the beautiful fort and historical sites. Highly recommend if your not too fussy.

Best place to stay in Galle! Amazing pool

A charming hotel with coloniel style. Buildt in the 1800s. The infinity pool is absolutely amazing! The view is breathtaking. Food and service was very Good!

Lovely and welcoming staff, very friendly and caring towards my family and I. The Sri Lankan breakfasts were delicious and we always had more than enough food. We loved the fact that the hotel had such history and had been in one family for so long. The location was great and we were able to either walk down to the main road for transport or easily get a tuk tuk from the hotel. Their tour guide Dilip was absolutely fantastic in giving us information and helping us to get the most out of our stay.

Charmantes, sehr altes Kolonialhotel

Wir waren zu Beginn der Regenzeit 2 Wochen in dem Hotel. Die Lage, das Haus und die koloniale Einrichtung ist ausgesprochen schön. Der Service ist liebevoll. Der Pool ist klein, aber wunderbar gelegen. Das Haus ist insgesamt renovierungsbedürftig, bei nur 16 Zimmern aber auch kaum schaffbar. Wer den kolonialen Charme mag, kann hier sehr schöne, ruhige Tage verbringen.

The location of the hotel is superb. It’s very close to the fort and the views from the room are absolutely incredible. But the rooms are very basic and need maintenance. Also, the pool has not been cleaned in months and could really use some up keep.

Nice colonial style hotel

Great location close to Galle town. The hotel is at the tip of Galle bay with water all around. The room was clean and comfortable with a great view of the bay. No TV (no need really) and hair dryer (no need really) Breakfast was included but nothing to speak of. A few pieces of toast and an omelette with nothing inside.

Not what I expected

The hotel is old which is fine and I actually appreciate that, but it’s not as clean as it should be and everything in my room doesn’t work. When I got to my room I automatically wanted to leave and go somewhere else. It didn’t feel comfortable. The fridge looks so dirty and the tub had a black ring at the bottom which made me very uncomfortable (I wore slippers to take a shower). Although there is a nice view by the beach and the staff was very kind I do think this hotel needs to step things up and do way better with cleaning the place. The bed was also super hard which made the stay uncomfortable. I only stayed at this hotel for one night and I wouldn’t recommend it.

비품상태나, 욕실 청소상태가 불량했고, 특히 아침 조식은 바나나 말고는 먹을만한것 없었음. 수영장은 정말 목욕탕 만했고요, 대신 전망은 좋았어요

Nice building in beautiful setting is partycenter

Booking Closenberg is booking a party-center annex hotel. We stayed for 3 days. On 2 days there was a wedding-function. This means electronic music from 10 am until 16 pm. The last 2 hours on a very loud volume. Wedding guests entering the poolside although this is forbidden by the hotel. They just don't listen and do what they want. It is as if they have rented the whole place. Of course you can avoid all this by just leaving for the day. But if you have planned to enjoy the beautiful garden and the pool that is just not possible. The third day there was a party at the poolside until 23 pm. Making complaints about it by many guests had no result. The music was so loud that is was hurting your head. The party-guests, drunk at the end were all over the garden. Next day after much effort we got a discount of 50 dollars for this day. Conclusion: the view and the building are beautiful but the noise spoils so much. The price you pay is far too high for what you get

딱 뷰만 좋은 호텔!

수영장과 뷰가 좋다해서 예약을 했으나 넘 실망...객실상태가 넘 노후하고 지저분 저렴한 가격도 아닌데...티비도 없고 머리말릴 드라이도 없고 어메니티라곤 싼 비누와 1회용 샴푸 달랑이고 ...천장 선풍기에 새까만 때가 꼬질꼬질하고 모기가 많아서인지 모기장이 있으나 그것더럽고 냉장고 또한 얼마나 오래되었는지 소리가 넘 커서 끄고 잤네요.ㅠㅜ 조식또한 정말 푸어 하고요.. 갈레 포트와도 넘 떨어져 있고... 하여간 속상했어요. 이 호텔은 전망이 좋으므로 가볍게 차한잔 하러 가는것으로...충분합니다. 넘 돈 아까웠어요.

Beautiful colonial architecture and great location with excellent view. But lacks maintainence of the whole area, not clean and bad food. The place need to be renovated and cleaned. Too pricy for what you get.

Otroligt charmigt hotell, supertrevlig personal och väldigt vacker utsikt och natur på området. Trevlig pool och ett fint litet poolområde. Dock mycket slitna rum, dålig städning och obefintliga toalettartiklar.

Fantastic position and great views

This was an enchanting glimpse into a bygone era. The view from my window was sensational. The staff were excellent keen to help and quick to respond. Good restaurant with a varied menu. Reception staff quick to respond to requests. Full of interesting corners to sit with a book. Would certainly go back.
