For a long time I wanted to stay and did read many reviews the hotel is all people rave about and more ! Amazing balcony views and i did enjoy the view of the Port of Funchal it really has the best location in Funchal . The rooms are spacious with a very private balcony (6th floor) extremely comfortable beds. The service was excellent from everyone we met .

This was possibly our best hotel experience ever. It was my husband's 50th birthday and management helped to make it truly special.The hotel room and facilities were stunning. The Cliff Bay is very well located, on a beautiful bay a few minutes walk away from the port area (I would recommend this distance away from the cruise ships). We enjoyed a couple of meals from room service (best burger ever...and we've tried many). On the opposite side of the scale, the Il Gallo D'Oro Michelin experience was extraordinary...food art and superb service. The hotel is in perfect condition and manages to be elegant and contemporary and yet have charm and feel warm. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others and consider returning. An unforgettable stay.

Cliff Bay is a fantastic hotel, with the most amazing views. Staff were excellent, from the moment we walked in to the moment we left they couldn’t do enough for you. Spotlessly clean hotel with great facilities. Really lovely 4 night stay .Only slight downside is that the air conditioning could be a bit colder .
