First of all, let me say the customer service was excellent the young lady at the desk who checked me in was so nice and helpful I needed an early check in due to medication I needed to refrigerate. As soon as the keys were given to me, I went directly to the room. As we were walking, I could smell mildew in the air I mean really bad old mildew smell like old carpet that needed to be cleaned or was wet just wasn’t a pleasant smell then we get to the room and you had to push the door open like that’s not good. Go into the room and you’re hit with wet dirty carpet smell. Spots on an old recliner that was in there , but the bathroom was clean. If I could have found another affordable hotel that night. I would have checked out. It’s very run down and old and I just cannot get past the smell like it’s so bad you can always tell how the place is by the sign the Comfort Inn sign ummmm maybe 3 letters worked but looking into the hotel the dining area for the breakfast the windows are moldy and just yuck I will not stay here again. If it wasn’t for the top tier customer service i probably would’ve left

The staff weren’t well to trained and the pool had a nasty film on top . Also the breakfast was disappointing . I feel I paid to much for the room it was dated. Also the shelves in the shower were disgusting.

Cons - Ongoing construction made arrival confusing. - Valet podium was unattended when we arrived. - Parking can be difficult for first-time visitors; self-parking is in a garage across the street. - Room and bathroom were small by modern standards. - Downtown Syracuse has many vacant storefronts and visible homelessness that may make some guests uncomfortable, though we never felt threatened. - Eleven Waters was closed during our stay. Overall: The beautifully restored architecture, comfortable rooms, thoughtful amenities, and excellent staff make for a memorable stay. While the neighbourhood and parking situation present challenges, this remains one of the most distinctive places to stay in Syracuse. 4.5/5 stars. A beautifully restored historic hotel with excellent staff and character, somewhat offset by parking confusion, construction, and a downtown environment that may not appeal to everyone.

Checkin wss very easy and the staff was nice. The pool was not available which was disappointing.

They are renovating this hotel at the moment but even with this things were clean and fairly quiet. There were linked slat-style blinds in my 6th floor room which needed minor repairs but everything else worked. I had to lift my suitcase up a flight of 6 stairs in the lobby, hopefully they will put in a ramp during the redo. Overall it was fine.
