Fantastic location, beautiful Island. Lots of things to do. Anna in the spa is exceptionally good. Old hotel but great service and sofisticated style absolutely compensate for the age. Gorgeous garden and magic views

The biggest question is: what exactly are guests paying for? Almost everything costs extra after arrival. The beds, in our experience, smelled of urine and felt decades old, with a mattress topper barely one centimetre thick. There was visible water damage in the bathroom ceiling, the smell of cigarette smoke lingered throughout parts of the hotel, and the spa was run down and largely unmanned. This property is, in my opinion, so neglected that it is difficult to understand how it is still marketed as a spa and resort. Charging premium prices creates premium expectations, and those expectations were nowhere near met. The location is absolutely beautiful and the potential is enormous. With proper investment, care and competent management, this could become a fantastic destination. Instead, it feels like a property that has been allowed to deteriorate for years while still being marketed as an exclusive experience. Hotels.com offered us NOK 330 in compensation for a stay costing around NOK 3,000. That alone says something about how poor the experience was. A substantial refund would have been a far more reasonable outcome. What surprised me most was that Classic Norway Hotels has chosen to associate its brand with this property.When a hotel chain promotes a hotel under its name,it also shares responsibility for the expectations it creates. In our case, those expectations were simply not met. 1500 letters is not anywhere close to describe this catastrophicly run down place!

Beautiful large property and grounds. Definitely surprised to find out that it’s only accessible by ferry! No cars on the island. A beautiful shuttle drive from the ferry landing to the hotel. There is no peaceful view of the water from the hotel, as pictured. In it’s prime it was quite the destination.

Vi bodde her for bare en natt og det var vi glade for. Dette hotellet har for lengst passert sin renessanse. FÞltes at rommene var fra 80 tallet - trangt og med dÄrlige fasiliteter. Badet var gammelt og trangt. Sengen var gammel, dynene og putene var gamle og ikke blitt luftet pÄ lenge. Putene luktet gammel svette og fuktighet. Lenge siden de var byttet. SvÞmmebasseng og spa fasilitetene bÊrer ogsÄ preg av slitasje, garderobene var heller dÄrlig rengjort. Det eneste lyspunktet var middagen pÄ kvelden. Den var god med hyggelig betjening. Beklager, men dette frister ikke til gjentagelse.

Vill du byta handduk efter att ha badat i inomhuspolen kostar det 50 NOK. 5. Restaurangen har en fixt meny, - oĂ€tligt. BlÀÀ. 6. Personalen verkar pressade av Ă€garen, nĂ€stan rĂ€dda, ser grĂ„tfĂ€rdiga ut. 7. StĂ€llet har undermĂ„ligt underhĂ„ll och borde stĂ€ngt för lĂ€nge sedan. 8. Frukosten var undermĂ„lig, jag och min partner blev illamĂ„ende efterĂ„t. Gurkan var torr samt all annan frukt och grönt. Äggröran hade dom blandat cement i. 9. Rommet hadde klissete gulv, manglet nattbord (det ble satt inn etter forespÞrsel) Meget dÄrlig belysning. Helt umulig Ä lese. Det var tomt for sÄpe pÄ badet, da vi spurte etter mer ble det satt i utvannet sÄpe/sÄpevann. En unggutt som gjorde sÄ godt han kunne i resepsjonen og den eneste andre voksne forsto ikke norsk, Elendig strÄle i dusjen, helt umulig om man ville vaske hÄret. Det var bryllup pÄ hotellet og felles terrassen var booket. Det var stoler/bord i lysthuset i hagen, men de manglet puter og var fulle av illeluktende mugg. Frokosten var begredelig, dÄrlig utvalg og utplukket, smaklÞst f.eks. speilegg for lite stekt/slimete og stekte tomater helt uten smak. Beklager men dette oppholdet var virkelig ikke verdt pengene. Og i tillegg 300 kroner for bÄten. Vi kommer ikke tilbake.

VÊr forberedt pÄ at det er nesten 600 m Ä gÄ fra brygga der bÄten kommer inn og til hotellet. Vi var ikke klar over det og hadde tung bagasje Ä bÊre. Rommet var helt ok, men hadde kun hÄndsÄpe pÄ badet, ingen dusjsÄpe eller shampo. Maten i restauranten var kjempegod, vi hadde en treretters og fikk god hjelp av restaurantsjefen da vi fÞrst ble avvist av servitÞrene som sa det var fullt. PÄ spaet vi besÞkte pÄ morgen var det ikke tÞmt boss eller fyllt pÄ toalettpapir, og det var ikke tilgjengelig hÄndkler, sÄ vi mÄtte ta med de vi hadde pÄ rommet. Frokosten var enkel men god. Foruten disse tingene var servicen pÄ topp hos de fleste som jobbet der, og vi fikk skyss tilbake til bÄten nÄr vi skulle dra.
