Best room we’ve ever stayed in for the price.

The exterior doesn’t do the inside justice. You would never guess how nice it is when you pull up to the building. The room was absolutely beautiful and seriously the best room we’ve ever gotten for the price we paid. The keypad lock was a little tricky figuring out but the owners texted us back quickly with instructions. We had to use the WiFi to text though since there is no cell service in the area…

Weekend trip

Overall the place was beyond great from every aspect to me. Everything inside the room was new and looked great only issue was no shower curtain but wasn’t a deal breaker. Me and my nephew stayed there over the weekend to do atv trails in the town of Gilbert WV. Was a blast will definitely go back. Anyone looking to book don’t let outside appearance fool you it definitely is nice and comfortable along with it being affordable too.

This place is completely mislabeled as a "resort" this is far from a resort. This is an abandoned gas station with apartments next to it. My house had an asthma attack when he entered the room. the toilet looked like some did an "upper Decker" in it. No way this place should be $100 for a 'Luxury" room.

Come on man. Four rooms built over an abandoned gas station is not a “resort”. And yes that’s exactly what this place is. It’s not a hotel, or a resort. No sign. It’s literally an abandoned gas station in the middle of nowhere. There are no in room AC controls. No soap for the bathroom. The only reason to stay here is that it beats sleeping in the car.

Fantastic Stay!

Absolutely amazing!! My group booked a riding/ camping trip at Hatfield McCoy Trails, but our campsite got washed out from a storm. Fox Run Resort was the perfect solution! Short distance from the trails. Quick 6 min machine ride to Devils Anse trailhead. The hosts, Shawn and Lexi, were so accommodating with helping my group. The clean room was the perfect size for a group of four. Plenty of towels, games, and a cute kitchenette. There was a beautiful deck with lots of seating for larger groups outside. Plenty of parking, especially for those with trailers! Definitely a gem!! Be aware that there are dogs owned by neighboring residents that walk around the property. We will absolutely be booking again for our next trip to Hatfield and McCoy Trails.

Everything was great once we got inside but the outside is very creepy as a first impression. It dod not help that the 5 of us showed up at 12:15AM in the pitch black unfamiliar windy road mountains just to find an abandoned gas station! Definitely my first instinct was RUN. BUT the INSIDE WAS GORGEOUS and the guy running the place was plenty nice just half asleep as we arrived much later than planned. I think “resort” is a bit misleading but if you are in the middle of the mountains (or riding ATV’s as the place was intended for) it was a very cmfortable, all new, very nice craftsmanship place!:) We slept great and noone got murdered LOL!
