Great, friendly owner. Fantastic motel.

Owner, Andy,was so helpful after we had a passport issue at previous motel which was proving very unhelpful with our issue. He arranged for a friend to go pick up passport and send it on to our next motel thus saving us the hassle of an eight hour return trip, ensuring our holiday could continue as planned. He was friendly and helpful from the moment we checked in. Apart from his help the motel is also excellent: spacious rooms, excellent facilities and cracking views from the patio. Also very close to restaurants/bars and Fox Glacier. Cannot recommend Andy and the Rainforest Motel highly enough. Ian

Everything we needed

We had a comfortable 3 night stay in a very clean Studio unit, equipped with a kitchenette that had a fridge, microwave, small oven and a two ring electric hob, toaster, kettle and electric frying pan - ideal for producing simple meals. Tea, coffee and biscuits were provided, plus a small bottle of milk on arrival. The ensuite shower provided plenty of hot water at impressive pressure. We had a couple of chairs and a small table. Parking available immediately outside our unit. It was quiet and we slept well. Our host, Andy, was very friendly and gave us useful pointers on the walks/sights in both Fox and Franz Joseph - this helped us get the most out of our time there. His dog Stella was also very friendly. Having SKY TV allowed us to watch the Super Rugby - bonus! We enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to return.

Hier fehlt ein Management, welches sich um die Instandhaltung kümmert. Glühbirnen im Bad waren kaputt, die Herdplatte in der Küche funkt nicht richtig, war völlig zerkratzt und hatte bereits Glasschaeden. Die Schranktueren hingen nur noch so gerade eben in den Scharnieren. Es gab keine Abzugshaube, die Gardinen hingen auf halb zwölf, der Foen fehlte. Die Matratzen waren sicher schon älter als 15 Jahre. Schade, denn die Umgebung ist sehr schön und ruhig
