Labor Day Alpine trip

We make the vintage vibes from the hotel. The pool was clean and the pool area was very well taken care of. Everything was clean, cool and comfortable. It had plenty of space for this mom and her two teenage sons to stay comfortably. We loved it. Super cute. I do wish the pool would stay open later on the weekends since quiet time is from 10pm-8 am.

You have to check in 1 mile away which is a pain. Our heat did not work, so I had to leave a restaurant & meet the repairman back at the room-they don't have a skeleton key??? Also, it was so incredibly dark in there I had to use a flashlight to find my luggage/clothes. No closet light, dim lighting all throughout the room & bathroom. The room was clean, however (from what I could see) & the beds were comfortable. The room is NOT what is depicted in the pictures on the website; the queen beds are together & the bathroom is away from them. No breakfast offered, no coffee cups in the room off site, so after traipsing out in the cold to get coffee, we had to turn around & make it in the room. Also it's right behind train tracks, so trains blow through there 2-3X/night. Hot water never got hot - just warm. Had to take very quick showers. This property was overpriced for the lack of amenities.

Quaint motor court style hotel. Quiet, well-maintained. Check in was at the main property in town. Other than the beds being hard, the room was comfortable, but the WiFi was spotty. Served our purposes well and would overall recommend.

Have stayed here before- it is owned and check in is at another hotel downtown. There is no one at location . Almost no other guest there. VERY quiet and easy parking. This is a very old road stop hotel from 30s. Large room with a GREAT bathroom. Old history place in west Texas!! Would stay again!!!!

I love this property for its unique qualities in the region: historical preservation of the area's first campground, a very nice swimming pool, easy access to the main parts of town, great pet-friendly place with a nice yard for them, and the commitment of owners to the preservation of the region.
