As soon as you drive onto the Surf Hotel and Gardens property..One instantly feels very welcomed..From the moment you check in..with all the beautiful trees and Gardens right across the street from the ocean..to walking into your room which is veey cozy..I just love this place!

We stayed for 2 nights, room were clean and quiet, there’s hot tea and coffee and some snack available till 11:00pm, basic breakfast with fruits, hotel staff were helpful and friendly. We will be staying here again if coming next time to this area.

I've stayed here many times over many years. The place is dated, but it looks like they are making upgrades as they can. It's a quiet place with beautiful grounds. I like it because I always bring my dogs with me. The rooms were reasonably clean. The carpeting needs shampooing or replacement. The beds are hard, but I brought a pad to help. All in all, I will go back again.

Been a few years since last stay and was very pleased with the room upgrades. The grounds are well maintained and the fish cleaning station was spot on perfect. Just an overall comfortable stay for this fisherman.

Was on a motorcycle trip and stayed here one night. The room was good and clean. Pretty good quality amenities inside. Had to wait well into the late afternoon for them to finish cleaning it, tho. And a friend of mine had to wait until the evening to get into his room. The property is pretty nice with a garden in the middle of the parking lot to chill in.

I was traveling with Poppy the Pug for the first time. I had to reserve the large room because I needed the fridge for her food. Staff was so accommodating with my forgotten charging cord and a spoon for the ice cream I forgot! Many other customers told me that had come back to Surf Motel for years. There were a few things in the room, but it was clean the shower worked well and the towels were good and plentiful

There is a lovely garden and space outside where you can go sit and relax. That is unique to most motels. And we enjoyed our room because it was at the end of the block of rooms and the view was of the garden. Could’ve used a little more information from the front desk. As to check out and how to use the outdoor area.

Expedia messed up our reservation but the staff was so friendly and offered to go above & beyond their job description to help find a solution. The grounds are well kept and our room was wonderful. But Expedia failed, so always call the hotel to ensure they’ve received your reservation so you aren’t left scrambling to find somewhere to stay when the whole town is booked up!

Great little spot close to everything for a decent price. We brought our dog and they had a great little fenced in dog area at the back of the property near a fire pit, gardens and gazebo, and bbq stands near picnic tables. Our room was fine enough - there were a few things that weren't awesome (red stains on the carpet, poorly "fixed" parts of wood in the bathroom, bubbling of wood on the vanity beneath the sink drain), lighting was kind of odd- but it worked fine for our needs. The continental breakfast was mid, but worked in a pinch for an early morning snack before being able to get some real grub (I can't have dairy so it was pretty limited). The staff were kind and super helpful! All in all, I would definitely come back in the future.

Despite arriving one and a half hours after checkin time the room was not ready and we had to wait a further half an hour in the hot sun before gaining access. The central garden space had a little shade but the plants do not look well maintained. The room once accessible was fine and reasonably quiet over night despite being located near the main road. Breakfast was adequate with room to sit down. Fort Bragg has several restaurants but the only place to eat locally in the evening within walking distance was a fast food outlet.
