The rooms are spacious, clean and well-kept. The bathroom needs an extractor fan.
What I didn't particularly like is the pay by the hour rooms within the same compound. That created a rather negative visual for me. Better signage would also help hotel guests to not head in that direction first and be put off. I very quickly considered abandoning my reservation because of this.
Nevertheless, I enjoyed my stay as a hotel guest. I really enjoyed interacting with Dianne from the restaurant and bar. She has great energy!

Stayed with my Husband, Mother, Infant and Toddler. This location was perfect. Only 5 min. from the airport. The hotel is dated for sure and need some remodeling. That wasn't the most important quality for me but it can be a deal breaker for some. The towels were not all the same but they were all clean. Nothing bad to say besides check in was challenging. However, they made the corrections on their side and after the 2 hour wait for check in everything was great. The service was good and the breakfast was good.
The beach was perfect. Small but more then enough chairs in shade or in the sun. and it was a clean beach. Calm waters during our stay.

Mount Irvine Beach Resort has great potential. The grounds and overall layout lend to what could be a truly exceptional resort experience. Unfortunately, the property is poorly maintained and somewhat run-down, which detracted from our stay, in addition to other disappointments. Several basic amenities were lacking. Towels and toiletries were provided sparingly, and it often felt as though essentials such as soap, towels, and even breakfast items seemed to be rationed rather than offered with the level of hospitality one would expect from a resort. During our three-day stay, housekeeping services were not provided at all. We only managed to get fresh towels and additional bath soap by stopping the housekeeper when we happened to hear her passing by our room.
The service experience was disappointing. Upon arrival in the afternoon, the only staff member available was the security guard, with no reception staff present to assist with check-in. Similarly, when we checked out, there was no one at the reception desk despite having advised the resort in advance that we would be leaving early, around 8:30 a.m.
While the resorthas significant potential, the lack of maintenance, inadequate staffing, poor housekeeping, and extremely disappointing customer service made this a frustrating stay. As it stands, our stay fell well below expectations.

A Biohazard Disguised as Luxury: Rodent droppings are only the beginning...
Utility Failures: We had zero running water for multiple consecutive nights with no forewarning. When temporarily restored, a dark brown liquid flowed from the taps. A bathroom sink remained completely clogged and backed up with stagnant water our entire stay despite notifying management.
Severe Bed Linen Neglect: Due to the water supply issues, our bed linens were never changed during our two-week stay. Worse, the sheets had highly visible stains prior to use, suggesting they were never cleaned before arrival.
Biohazards & Pests: We found fresh rodent droppings on kitchen counters and food areas. New cockroaches appeared daily; dead ones were left un-swept. We completely abandoned eating any food at our villa. Outside, a dead animal carcass was left to rot right by our car, emitting a foul odor.
Broken Appliances: For one bedroom, the AC was broken was days. The washing machine broke three times; management's solution was to eventually hand us a key to Villa 3 and expect us to haul our wet laundry down the hill ourselves.
Do not let the photos of the view fool you. Behind the scenery is a broken, unhygienic, and structurally neglected property run by management that simply does not care. To make it clear what future guests will be getting for their money: you are paying premium luxury rates to be an unpaid maintenance tester for a crumbling villa. Look elsewhere and AVOID BOOKING AT ANY COST

Unfortunately my family's five day stay was a terrible experience. The hotel is very run down and poorly maintained. And there were issues from the time we arrived.
The biggest problem was mosquitoes in and outside our room. I complained to the young receptionist and her first response was very disappointing. I was told that there were some "very important people" including judges expected to arrive and we might not be able to switch rooms. Advice to the young lady: never make a guest feel like they're not important!!!!!!
At that point, I called around and found another place to stay so we were prepared to check out.
After I told the receptionist we'll be leaving is when she actually started trying to move us. We were moved to the "penthouse suite" which was essentially a larger room with no mosquitoes. Still poorly maintained, fridge didn't work, and the door around the lock is close to breaking off.
We stayed but problems continued:
Horrible breakfast. Birds were sometimes pecking at the food. So we chose not to eat certain things.
Lunch and dinner was excellent though.
On the last day, water and electricity went out. They returned after about 20 minutes but then water went again that evening. I went to the same receptionist and told her about the water. Also let her know water went that morning. She told me I should've let them know in the morning and they would've fixed it. Again, young lady, NEVER MAKE A GUEST FEEL AS THOUGH THEY ARE WRONG!!!
