Vacations Close To Florida Railroad Museum

The room was very spacious and absolutely the cleanest motel room we've stay in! The room amenities were great- the freezer portion of the mini fridge was stunningly large and re-froze our cooler blocks handily. The bathroom was large, well kept and functional and had a good-sized counter for our toiletries. The shampoo and conditioner dispensers in the shower reminded me of those on our cruise ships, other than the fact that there was no shower gel dispenser. There were regular bars of soap, so no points taken off for that. The staff were friendly and clearly worked hard to maintain the cleanliness of the rooms and property. The included breakfast was delicious, with a good variety of food and drink choices, and the area was actively cleaned and restocked while we were there. We didn't use the bar, but checked it out the morning we left and it had a good variety of basic drink ingredients on hand. Parking was sufficient and well-lit during the night, and we were able to observe our vehicle easily from the room. We would definitely stay here again on our next overnight trip to the area!

The wide site isn’t clear on parking. Plan on paying for parking, whether it’s a parking lot nearby or valet. There are walkable eateries and bars nearby.

This South Tampa hotel was a disappointment. The exterior looks OK, but the interior looks shabby. The carpeting is old and worn. The sofa was old and did not look clean. Inadequate lighting was a big problem. A guest cannot open the blackout curtain on the one window without losing privacy because there is no transparent sub-curtain. There were only four light fixtures with five low-wattage light bulbs. I could barely see my work papers when I used my laptop at the small desk. The bathroom vanity area was also poorly lit; the low light made it hard to do my morning grooming and makeup routine. The breakfast offerings were disgusting. I generally don't eat breakfast, but I always want coffee in the morning. The coffee itself was nasty, and the only creamer available was in individual plastic Coffee-Mate containers. While waiting for a new carafe of coffee, I saw a hotel employee take frozen sausages from a plastic food-service bag and place them in a toaster oven. Once I took a sip of the coffee, I put the cup in the trash. The only good thing I can say about the South Tampa Hotel and Suites is that the staff are pleasant and the on-site parking is convenient. I travel more than most people, so I have stayed at many hotels in the US. This is the harshest hotel review I have ever written. But why stay here when there are four Hampton Inn properties near the airport at the same price point? I will stay at the Hampton Inn Avion Park Dr again the next time I travel to Tampa.

Dated facility with average bathroom fixtures. Lighting in the room - very poor , hardware falling apart, courtyard view limits privacy but pulling the curtains closed, made the room dark. Overall average experience- will avoid staying here in future
