A beautiful hotel, built in the 1940s, in the great British colonial style, like the Raffles hotel in Singapore or the Victoria Falls Hotel in Zimbabwe. The interior is elegant. The service was remarkably warm, helpful and attentive. The overall experience was outstanding, even compared to other five star hotels.

The Phoencia is a wonderful hotel.

The Phoencia is a wonderful hotel. all the staff are courteous, efficient and friendly, and they all seem happy in their work. The rooms are spotless and the restaurant is excellent. A special mention to the restaurant breakfast staff who work very hard and were very busy on Sunday, but made the time to clear a prepare a table in the conservatory.

Perfect for a few days in Valletta

The Phoenicia is a superbly run luxury hotel just outside the main gate into Valletta. From start to finish our stay there was perfect; the staff are terrific, the property is immaculate throughout and the food is first class. There are lots of accommodation options in Valletta but the Phoenicia is a very polished operation compared to others in our experience, and the small price premium is well worth it.

Malta has many decent hotels but this is the truly excellent one. An amazing history and really beautiful property, with a stunning pool. But it's the staff that make a difference and here they are superb - service retains a Maltese friendliness even though a global crew. Probably the best hotel in Malta and one that doesn't rest on its laurels. Really impressed.

Our stay at The hotel Phoenicia was top rate. The staff were all very friendly and always smiling. Nothing was too much trouble and anything asked for was dealt with promptly. The breakfast buffet is amazing it has everything. The outside pool area is lovely with views over the harbour. It is located close the the main Republic Street east walking to all the bars, cafes and restaurants. Excellent all round. Highly recommend it to anyone.
