What a treat to have stayed in this hotel in the middle of the jungle and with a beautiful lake Peten Itza view. Tranquility at its best! Great location to head out to Tokal.

What an amazing place. From the location to the staff to the natural environment and facilities, La Lancha is top notch. We had a large group (four families each with children) and La Lancha staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating for our group. We look forward to staying there again soon!

The place its magical, staff is very attentive. Our ac was not working when we got there they fixed the issue with inn minutes, after that everything was just perfect , i stayed in june 3 and going back again in august… had the best time !

Incredible Spot

I love this little spot nestled away in the jungle of Guatemala overlooking Lake Peten. It was quiet and peaceful and everything I needed to relax.

Incredible!

This resort is incredible and the service is fantastic! We took the boat from the airport to the resort and we were greeted with welcome drinks and a candle lite dock. Then we rode the funicular up to the resort. The meals were delicious! The setting was magical!

The property is unbelievable! This is in an excellent location, very convenient for exploring Tikal. The lake side set up is beautiful with a dock and lounge area. They also provide boating transportation, kayaks, life jackets, basically anything you can need for the lake. There’s even a handicapped accessible elevator that can take you down to the lake if you have issues with steep steps. The pool side was awesome equipped with umbrellas and loungers. The restaurant served excellent food. The bar and drinks were amazing. The service was absolutely incredible, top notch. The room itself was nice with a working AC unit, ceiling fan, and mini fridge stocked. The bathroom was nice with a size-able shower with hot water. Overall, I was very impressed with this hotel. 100/10 rating.

Magical lake setting

I stayed here with my son and his girlfriend and the setting is magical, serene and beautiful. We swam in the lake while watching a family of monkeys watching us from the trees and swallows dipped and flew over the lake. The service is very warm and friendly. We drank delicious cocktails, ate good food and recharges our batteries.

I loved that the "room" was not connected to others and the location was not on the path to the restaurant, etc. The room was beautifully decorated and looked out to the vista. The staff and restaurant personnel were friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. We went on several excursions - to Tikal one day and the boat launch to Flores the next day - and the details were smooth and effortless.

Beautiful property on the lake and our room felt like a private escape. Excellent service with the staff going out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed and inquiring about our daily activities. They even packed breakfast for us when we left early for the Tikal sunrise tour and for the airport. My only minus was that I thought the food was slightly overpriced and some of the dishes lacked flavor. But overall it was great experience!

We stayed at La Lancha after touring Guatemala - we wanted to be near Tikal. Our stay was simply fabulous! Nestled in the midst of the jungle but on a lakefront La Lancha offered us a wonderful and relaxed stay full of beautiful scenery, spectacular sunrises and sunsets, canoe rides and stand up paddle boarding activity. We truly enjoyed our time here. The place is simply stunning with lithe huts (casitas) scattered in the midst of the jungle and a team of staff dedicated to ensuring our stay was pleasurable. Every detail was taken care of.

A beautiful boutique hotel experience in a jungle setting. Very attentive staff. It is remote so no where to walk to but most people do excursions during the day. Food was very good. Just be aware that food and drink prices are US/Cdn levels, not Guatemalan. That's the main trade off for staying in such a beautiful place. There is also a resident family of spider monkeys which made the experience unique.

Outstanding service

Hotel staff outstanding. General Manager made it a point to say hi every day and ask about our stay. Only negative is the boat ride from Flores to the resort. It can be very choppy and almost painful. But that isn’t the fault of the resort, just a fact of crossing a large body of water. Would stay there again.

The property is beautiful. We saw a lake otter, a crocodile and howler monkeys as well as many birds while visiting there and on the lake. The Lake View I room was much more than we expected. Two bathrooms!! One down side, maybe, are the steps. Eighty four from our room to the dining room and forty five to the pool. On the other hand we worked off our meals.

La Lancha is an amazing place to stay if you like nature. We enjoyed every minute during our stay. The staff is very accommodating and provides excellent customer service. We enjoyed the sauna (temascal), swam in the lake and the hotel crew helped us coordinate a boat sunset trip to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. The sauna and boat is at an additional cost but is definitely worthy, They offer free continental breakfast and the food is good! We rented a car in Peten which gave us the freedom of enjoying the whole area. But if you just want to enjoy the hotel is a good option too, its very relaxing, there’s a swimming pool and a mirador with a beautiful the lake view.there’s a lot of stars and it’s tiresome sometimes to go up and down but it was part of the experience that made it unique.. we did not have to worry about working out lol!

La Lancha provided absolutely wonderful service from the moment we booked until we left. We were greeted with scented warm towels to wash our humid faces and then whisked away to a candle lit dinner service. Our bags were bought to our room (especially grateful because of all the stairs). We stayed in a jungle facing room and we all decided we should have stayed much longer! It's absolutely stunning, the rooms are clean, the atmosphere is quiet and inviting, and the food is delicious. La Lancha is an absolute must stay if visiting Tikal (1 hour away) or Lake Peten! What a gem!
