Siggi is a wonderful host! The property was quiet and comfortable and in the middle of the mountains. We enjoyed talking with Siggi at breakfast and learning more about Iceland.
The host, Siggi, was fantastic: helpful, knowledgeable, kind, and very personable. His homemade Rhubarb jelly was yum-my! Beds and pillows were comfortable! Coffee and breakfast spread was top notch. Would definitely recommend!
Host Siggi is very friendly and welcoming. The place is spacious, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast has good selection of food. Would highly recommend a stay here.
We had an amazing stay in the quiet, clean, and well equipped property. Details like the hearty breakfast and opportunity to purchase handknit wool sweaters made by his grandma set this experience apart from our other stays.
However the highlight was spending time with our host Siggy as we talked about sheep farming and Iceland's history. His warmth and deep knowledge about all things Icelandic gave us a greater appreciation for the country.
A great place to stay with a wonderful host! Peaceful, scenic and quiet area. Memorably good breakfast. Very comfortable common area. Everything clean and tidy.
We stayed the property in one night. We checked in so late time, but owner’s response is so quick and kind. The room is clean and the stuff is so gentle.
The host Siggy was very welcoming, sat with us at bfast and gave a nice insight of living in Iceland and a glimpse of life in these parts of the country. Our drive here was priceless. Take the 95 coming down rather than upwards from the 1, awesome views.
Hello Siggi,
After our tour through Iceland we are back home in the Netherlands.
We have many memories of this trip, but our stay at Skard Farm b&b remains with us the most.
Thank you for the beautiful stories and the wonderful and lovingly prepared breakfast.
Good luck and maybe see you in the future!
Regards,
Marjan and Fredo van Praag
Siggy was a gracious host who shared many stories of Iceland. He suggested a hike behind the property that was difficult but we’ll worth the trek. Breakfast was delicious. The farm was very peaceful. I stayed 2 nights and wished I could have stayed longer.
Cosy guesthouse in the middle of nowhere. The owner, Siggi, gave us a very warm welcome when we arrived and we had a great chat with him over morning coffee. The room and facilities were excellent; next to the room itself there's a well equipped common area with sofas, TV, fridge, etcetera. Excellent bed and pillows. Got a tasty breakfast buffet even though it just the two of us that morning. Would come again!
We enjoyed our stay at this property. It was in a peaceful setting. The host took his time to welcome us and make us feel at home. He did not seem bothered by all of our questions. We learned a lot about Iceland from him. He even sat down and had coffee with us the next morning answering more of our questions. We’d definitely recommend this property to others.
Of all the places our group stayed along the ring road during our trip in Iceland, Skarð Bed and Breakfast was the crowd-favorite. The B&B is in a gorgeous scenic location on a family farm, and tucked away in a spot we never would have gotten to see if we hadn’t stayed there specifically. Siggi (the host) was very accommodating with our late arrival and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was perfect, and Siggi was great company and answered tons of questions our group had about Iceland (and offered some great suggestions of attractions along our route). On the way out we purchased some sweaters hand-knit by his grandmother which are the best souvenirs we could have to remember our time in Iceland by. Overall Skarð Bed and Breakfast was a unique and fun experience.

Pretty much similar to what others said. Abt 15-20min of gravel road in order to get there, drive cautiously!!! The surrounding is absolutely beautiful—snow capped mountains, a creek, sheep around the area. Because it’s sort of isolated, it’s very quiet and peaceful. I went out later in the evening to take pictures of sheep around the farm. The host Siggy (hopefully I got their name right!) immediately greets you upon arrival and shows you the best hospitality. Absolutely loved chatting with him. He’ll tell you all about the stories of Iceland you never knew of! I couldn’t stop asking him about how farming is like in Iceland. Very fascinating! It’s a pretty small guesthouse with about 3 or 4 other rooms in total so it’s really not noisy.
I had to check out early due to my itinerary and Siggy didn’t hesitate to set up breakfast earlier than normal for me— very grateful for that! Anyways, I would absolutely love to come back to this place in the future!!!
The guest house was so cool. I loved being on the farm. We are only there for one night though unfortunately so we can’t get to enjoy a lot of it. I wish I would’ve had more time there. But it was great to be out in the middle of nowhere and we even got to see some northern lights while we were there. Would definitely recommend!
And Siggi was cool too!
