Hotel is very well localized, hosted and customer service are very responsive and friendly. I would recommend this hotel to anyone as it is walking distance to any place that you want to visit in Fes.

The hotel is very close to the Medina and also to shops and restaurants, bank machines, etc. just on the outside of the Medina. The location is very very good. The building is beautifully renovated in traditional Moroccan style and the breakfast were was outstanding Other guests told us that dinners were also excellent. Namir and his staff were outstanding and when my vehicle got towed, they went to a great deal of effort helping get it resolved. You cannot go wrong booking this hotel.

Very hospitable dar in Fes. Did have stairs to climb, but they gave us a room just one floor up which was nice. Lovely traditional architecture and historic building. Breakfast included, and the price was great.

Very nice traditional Moroccan building, staff and owner very helpful and easily available. Tasty breakfast. Arrangement of taxi to the hotel and train station (do use their service), good advice on where to eat. They arranged a guided tour for us by an extremely knowledgeable and tireless guide. I would stay again if I return to Fes.

Perfect stay in Fes

Namir and his family were wonderful hosts. This Dar was just perfect, from check in, stay, advice, breakfast to leaving were all handled in the most efficient and kind manner. The location is also perfect.

Beautiful old Riyadh on the edge of the Medina. Easy access to most sites. Very helpful proactive staff that go out of their way to help you. Would definitely recommend it to others visiting Fes.

This Dar is a real gem! The Dar it self is beautiful! The rooms are amazing. Namir and his staff are so so kind and accommodating. The area is clean and a 5 minute walk to the Blue Gate. I highly recommend.

Wonderful quiet riad with the most genuine attentive hosts. This place is spotlessly clean, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, shower is great, and just a beautiful interior overall. The host family makes the MOST delicious dinners - definitely stay in and eat here! They also arranged for our private driver for a day tour to Volubilis, Moulay Idriss and Meknes - a very good day despite the somewhat dreary weather! Absolutely beautiful place and family. Highly recommend!

The owner took good care of us. We were extremely happy with this Riad, as it was close to everywhere within the Medina. Some nice restaurants in the area as well, a walking distance, actually. Breakfast was the best part we looked forward to every morning. The area was so quiet that we had the best sleep in years. Thank you Dar D’or!

Do Yourself a Favor and STAY HERE!

An absolutely fantastic place to stay! I travel constantly for work, and have rarely encountered a more warm and helpful staff than those at Dar D'Or. The details here are thoughtful, the rooms incredibly comfortable, and Namir and his family are warm and helpful. Beyond coordinating transportation and guides, when my husband didn't feel well Namir immediately accompanied us to a pharmacy and explained our situation in Arabic so we could get medication. The place is also easy to find, quiet, and a quick walk from the chaos of the medina. HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Namir and his wife are warm and excellent hosts in this beautiful dar. All of the staff are friendly, kind and helpful. The food (breakfast and dinner) are excellent. Let Namir (who is passionate about visitors having a great experience) arrange a certified guide for you to visit the medina in Fez. The guide he arranged for our tour was an extremely knowledgeable native of Fez who shared the history, the culture, and the artisanal traditions of Fez. We witnessed other guides steering their groups mostly to shops where they seemed to know the owners. The dar is immaculate and there are beautiful, hand crafted tiles throughout. The wifi is excellent.

Beautiful clean, quiet riad

This is a beautiful riad that was renovated to maintain the feel of a traditional Moroccan home. The owners and staff made us feel welcomed and comfortable from the start. The rooms have windows that look into the central courtyard which is also the dining room. There is a skylight overhead which gives natural light. It is in a quiet, very convenient location near various entries to the medina, and as a bonus there is a brand new laundry service a minute's walk away. They had our clothes washed, dried and folded in two hours for a very good rate, charged by the kilo. It is unfortunate the owners of the riad don't make clear that guests receive a 25% discount on dinners. She cooks from recipes handed down in her family. So delicious. But at list price they are a bit higher than we wanted to pay each night. At the discounted rate they were better. The only downside was breakfast. It was an egg cooked to preference, a small carton of average yogurt, a little fruit and a lot of bread with spreads. Considering the quality of the dinner, and that originally the couple planned to open a restaurant and cooking school, we hoped for something more noteworthy. Nonetheless, I would definitely stay there again.

This riad (a traditional style of accommodation in Morocco) is not easy to find. If you’re using Google Maps it will tell you to turn into an alley that looks like you ought not to turn into; but turn in and go most of the way through until you see the tiny sign and speaker on the wall. Once you find it you’ll be glad you did. It is a gorgeous building and the staff was friendly and very helpful. When my prearranged tour fell through, he was able to get me on a last minute replacement that saved that part of my vacation. He also brews a mean mint tea. That said, there are a couple of caveats to mention. First, the property is not handicap accessible- at all. There are fairly steep, narrow stairs everywhere so if you use a cane or crutch or just have bad knees, this might not be for you. The staff person spoke very little English but with the miracle of Google Translate on my phone and the fragment of high school French I remember, it was no problem communicating what needed to be said or understood. The room was a bit small but the air conditioning was powerful (a godsend when it’s close to 40 degrees Celsius/100 degrees F), and the bed was so comfortable that I almost didn’t want to leave for my tour the next day. So, with those considerations in mind, I still would absolutely recommend Dar D’or Fes to anyone staying in Fes- it’s beautiful, comfortable, and close to several restaurants in easy walking distance.

Great Place

Our stay was absolutely wonderful! The property is sooo beautiful, and our room was so comfortable. We really appreciated the breakfast each morning, and that they offered dinner (upon request). The location was perfect, and we could walk anywhere, and they even offered airport pick up, which was nice. Last, the staff was so kind and ever so helpful, and they really did make our stay wonderful. Thank you for everything :)
