“Comfortable room with excellent tea making supplies - and a good sized mug each! The floor fan was useful as it was very warm. The hotel kindly allowed a later check out with a prompt and polite response to our request. Check in was efficient and simple. The evening meal was superb - great value and the pavlova! Wow! Chef’s kiss! All in all - a beautiful historic building and a really enjoyable stay. We will return I am sure. ”

“We had an incredible time at this ultra lovely hotel !! The staff were incredible !! Such lovely people who give you a very warm welcome !! The food was extremely nice all served around the lovely scenery of clacton beach !! The room was bright and airy but lacked a little table in front of the settee to put your tea / coffee on !! “This was a wonderful experience, very friendly staff who were always ready to help, offering glasses of chilled water in the spacious and well-furnished public rooms and alcohol in the evenings. We stayed in the large Shakespeare room, often used as a Bridal Suite. The spa is great, with a good sized pool, a jacuzzi and unusual sauna.
