The hotel is situated off the beaten track and it was very peaceful there, which is just what we were looking for. The room was clean and spacious and the bed very comfortable, we also had a patio with a lovely double sun lounger. The bathroom was fantastic with a very spacious shower. The light fittings were stunning. The staff were friendly and attentive and we felt well looked after. The food was excellent at both breakfast and supper. The bar served great mocktails. We used the spa which has glass walls looking out at the view of the water feature and onto the wild natural area. We had it to ourselves, the massage was excellent, the whole experience was amazing. The only issue we had was the room was too hot when we arrived, we got all the heat turned off and we were comfortable after that. We could have done with more hanging and drawer space, also places to hang towels and bathrobes.

A Wonderful Countryside Retreat!

Absolutely gorgeous place! We were delayed getting into Bari and collecting car etc., but had no trouble whatsoever finding the place on Google Maps. The gated driveway and entrance is very impressive, even very late at night! We didn't arrive until around 23:30 and had no problem getting a couple drinks in before bed that night! It has a very boutique feel about it, though is extremely spacious, with beautiful surroundings and very well equipped accommodations. We had a 2 bed house and a 1 bed house, both had great amenities, including and iron and board (I did enquire prior and was advised no iron, so bought my travel one, but was pleased to see one there in each accommodation!). Outdoor seating and sun loungers were provided in our 2 bed property. Location is great to base yourself when visiting beautiful Puglia, and we also had a meal and drinks at the stunning 5 star Borgo Egnazia - literally a 5 min drive away - what a place that is!!! My only gripe is the cost to use the spa facilities - €40. Bit steep really and should be included in the price of the room. Understand that a booking might need to be made but to charge for this is unusual in my opinion. If this was an included benefit, I am sure more guests might book treatments. By charging to use the sauna etc., it keeps some guests away so they wouldn't even see these facilties or considering booking a massage maybe? Anyway, did not detract from a wonderful stay, albeit short!

To celebrate my husband’s birthday we booked a week stay at the Masseria San Francesco & it was the most magical stay in our 15 days in Puglia. The property was absolutely gorgeous, all decked out in lush neutral colours, well appointed furnishings & tasteful decor. The pool was such an added bonus on really warm days, even this October! Having food available onsite meant on days we wanted to stay poolside we didn’t have to leave the property. You definitely need a car to come here to stay. Savelletri is a small town with a few restaurants that is conveniently located only 10 minutes away. Masseria San Francesco was an absolute dream! We were actually sad to leave!

The property was absolutely beautiful and the staff were excellent. Our problem was that we arrived on a Saturday to be told the restaurant was closed and would be closed on Tuesday as well. There was no where else to eat and having no car they booked a restaurant 2 miles away and a taxi which charged us 50 Euros for the return trip!! A very expensive dinner. Future guests be warned.

The room and grounds were beautiful and very relaxing. Some of the staff were very attentive and some less so. I was disappointed with the spa and my treatment, the spa itself is in a lovely setting however the hour for relaxing doesn’t feel long enough especially in the low season, guests should be given more time when the facility is not being used so frequently. The service comes at an extra cost therefore I wouldn’t expect it to feel rushed but also not to be charged when we have paid for treatments. I would have appreciated front of house to advise the treatments would be in a shared room, I could not relax during my facial due to my partner having a message and salt scrub next to me, the facial itself was lovely but I would not have booked had I known. I enjoyed the pool and bar during the day and the location is ideal with a car, you can visit Fasano, Monopoli and many other beautiful towns and beaches.

Masseria San Francesco is a BEAUTIFUL property! The rooms are amazing and very clean! However, the overall experience was not the best due to the service. When we got there the people at the reception where not very friendly and when I told them that my friend is celiac is seemed like a big deal. They also asked a few times if we wanted to have dinner there but unfortunately they do not really many gluten free options so we decided to go elsewhere. Last but not least the buffet for breakfast is good and has a good variety but they have someone serving you which makes things very slow even when are there are very few people, it would be much better if everyone could just grab what they want. Overall the property is stunning and would definitely recommend it but service needs to be improved!
