Good points: fantastic, very nice young staff members in the spa and the bar. Room looked mostly clean and great to have windows that opened instead of aircon, as well as a view over garden. Why we shan’t ever return: taciturn, unhelpful staff on reception; dated, tired-looking and poorly furnished room and bathroom; no drinking water in room, broken kettle that wouldn’t turn itself off, iron but no ironing board, no hair conditioner, bar/lounge basic and depressing, dated décor everywhere in beige and brown. Also, poor value for money at over £120 for one night, (and booked months ago). The bar and spa staff were the highlights.

The food served from the Hog's Back Hotel was excellent. A fan was provided to help us survive during the heat, and the beds were comfortable. The pool and garden areas were amazing! The things that would help us rate this Hotel "excellent" rather than "good" would be a guest laundry room and air conditioning.

The Spa facilities were excellent as were the therapists. Top notch. Lovely helpful staff all round. Expected a bigger garden but it was still nice with good seating areas and lovely views. Would go again l, even if only for the spa.

Pleasant room and bathroom. Breakfast good qith plenty of choice. We stayed during a heatwave and our room was like an oven even with 2 fans so it was hard to get to sleep. The window opened a bit but not enough to make a real difference..
