Good but could be better

I have stayed at Grand Hotel Falkenberg a couple of times before and I like the hotel. The location is great, so close to the river and within good distance to the beach, bus station, and town. The reason for not giving the hotel full marks is that the room seemed a bit worn down. Normally the breakfast is very good - but today, the serving staff seemed slow at refilling food, all ketchup bottles were empty and the coffee was filled with coffee grounds. Also, there was a tv but showing only a handful of Swedish tv programs - one of which was sign language. I think the hotel should make an effort to cater to non-Swedish guests as well. The hotel rates are fairly high so I think they could do better.

Good but pricey

The hotel is in a good central location, close to town, the river and the beach. Breakfast is a varied buffet and really nice. Its a bit on the expensive end - especially in summer and not so sure its worth the extra money. It does not have an international focus. All signs only in Swedish. Tv only has 4 very boring local channels in Swedish. As a solo traveller, it would be nice with kabel tv in english as well. No one in reception after 11pm.
