Jederzeit wieder!
We had a wonderful time at mt aurora lodge. Kate and Jeff are hospitable and knowledgeable about aurora timing and woke us up immediately when the aurora showed up during the night. Seeing the northern light is breathtaking experience! Although the level is 2, we can clearly see the northern light due to clear and dark sky. Breakfast has Muffin, toast, egg, beacon, juice, milk. They also provide cereal, hot/cold water, hot chocolate, microwave, fridge in the lobby. WiFi in the lobby is good. $10 discount per person for going to ski land. Highly recommended for everyone who wants to view northern light and have fun in Fairbanks!
The owner of the cabin was very nice, there was a free breakfast, woke us up to watch the aurora and taught us how to take pictures. It was so worth it.
The owner got involved with all the lodgers, waking them when he thought we could see the Northern Lights. (I missed them, regrettably, due to cloud cover but I welcomed the rain, since most areas I visited were affected by wildfires.)
The breakfast was good, the area was scenic, the air was clear, the staff friendly and helpful.
A cool rustic lodge (believe me, the inside is way cuter than the outside). Very good breakfast & comfortable beds. We saw faint aurora two days in a row in late August (because it’s fairly early in the aurora season). The only downside is that the rooms are not very soundproof.
The owners are super nice. We loved the lodge. It is a few miles outside of Fairbanks but not too long of a drive. It’s close to the Gild Dredge 8 which we highly recommend as an activity. We would highly recommend this place to stay!
The building was quite unique as an old mining lodge. The staff was wonderful and enjoyed visiting with customers. The home cooked breakfast was delicious. Would love to come back to see the Aurora lights
Not a good stay because of the accounting department.
Two problems:
1. Charged the 3 rooms' deposit on "accident", never bothered to apologize about it after I called in 5 days later. Was not upfront with me about why it happened and acted "confused". They did not respond to hotels.com representatives initially and I had to call their accountant. I have yet to see the refund returned on my credit card.
2. The price posted on hotels.com is different than what they charged. They charge HIGHER, because they also charge 2.9% on credit card transactions. I've NEVER seen this for hotel customers through 20 years of hotel stays. FIRST EVER case like this for all my bookings from hotels.com.
best location to see northern lights. Staff is awesome.

The minute we walked in from the cold, this place felt like home. Super friendly host, great place to dock up and see the Aurora. Great place to bring a book and hang out for a few cold days. Really comfortable. Just know that this is a historic building, which added to it's charm, but there is no sound proofing between rooms and there are shared bathrooms. Would highly recommend. If you want to to see the Aurora without going on a paid trip just stay here.
I appreciate how they keep the lodge as original as it was built. It might compromise the convenient (share bathroom) and quietness (hear sound from next room) of the room in some degree. Great breakfast, nice common room and the best host! I enjoy my staying very much and look forward to coming back soon.
Kate and Jeff are wonderful owners with very helpful suggestions for photography. They gave good information about activities in the Fairbanks area. Breakfast prepared by Kate was delicious every morning. We felt like were part of the Mount Aurora Lodge family!
We arrived a little late in the day but reception was ready for us and staff was friendly. We had a wonderful lady on watch for us that night for the aurora. She alerted us in the night but we just missed the viewing due to the weather. The rooms were comfortable and quiet. The only reason for not a 5 on condition was due to the outside construction. Breakfast was homemade and very good. Conversed with the wife of the owner who was very pleasant and gave us tips on the area. Unique stay overall. Thank you!
Wow!!! What an amazing place! We saw northern lights dance in the sky all night long! The cabin had everything we needed ( make sure to buy food/drinks on the way there) The location is super remote which I loved! I’m
Sure that’s why the Aurora’s were so bright :) We had a wonderful time!!
Even thought we didn't get to see northern light, we enjoyed our stay at the lodge. They offered recommendation to other sightseeing places, and we loved the breakfast. We will definitely come back again!
Perfect location to see the Northern Lights. We stayed 3 nights and saw the Aurora Borealis every night.
Recommend that the stairs to the 2nd floor be replaced.

The breakfast is great, the view is awesome. Staffs are friendly, but I think they need a better hotel sign, and parking lot sign somewhere around the building.
