Location is 15 Minutes from the trainstation on foot, or 5 Minuten by bus. Very clean room,comfortable bed, good buffet breakfast.

The hotel is located in the middle of the shoppingstreet centre of Essen. Really nice, clean and friendly people at the reception. Good bargain for a good stay with breakfast!! Essen is a typical German city. Cosy and good!

We needed a quick place to stay in a town where almost all hotels were booked. Staff was wonderful, helpful, and friendly. While our building was old and in need of a facelift, the room itself was clean and had everything needed, but an extra lock on the door would be nice. Our bed was quite comfortable! With the lack of air conditioning or even fans, windows must be kept tilted open to help with the stifling heat. All night yelling and screaming from people below could be heard. I wish the hotel were in a better location. Breakfast was fantastic!

Room was clean and receptionist was very kind and helpful. The building was very very old but room was renewed.bed and pillow were very comfortable. Location was in the centre. Breakfast was good and sufficient. I was very pleasant. If you have limited budget you can stay. There is no tea or coffee options in the room but it is not big issue. My room is in the 4th floor and back side so it was so silent. Opposite side may be noisy. It is exactly old city centre hotel not expecting chain hotel details

This place was horrible. It was like a hostel. Our room was across the street from the registration desk. No street access, no phone, no closet. The outside photo looked nothing like the place. You couldn’t use the toilet without hitting the sink. It was an awful experience and we only stayed one night. Now the hotel will not release the funds that were not used. It was so bad we rented an Air B n B. I will not use Hotels.com agIn

Its good budget place, and right middle of the market district.. but lacking Air condition. And since the party is right outside the windows itse a slight challenge during the summer. Points for the breakfast, way better than what I expected for that price

The location of the hotel is walking distance to the train station. I was given a room not at the main building however across the street. Ugly building, very worn out carpet. Breakfast was acceptable.

I really enjoyed my stay at Novum Hotel Ambassador. Kind and service minded staff. Proper cleaning. Comfortable bed. The only improvement they can do is looking after the floors. A small renovation would do wonders. It´s not in a bad shape but a minor renovation here and there wouldn´t hurt anyone.

The hotel was really well placed in, very close to the Christmas market and within an easy walk of transport options such as trains. The hotel was clean, our rooms were quite big. The beds were very big, and very comfortable. The sofa bed was a little less comfortable but that's to be expected and didn't ruin the trip. Pillows are quite soft, so for those who like something a little more firm, it would be best asking for a second pillow. Breakfast is open until 10:30am. A great selection of food, both hot and cold which tastes great. Staff were very attentive and incredibly friendly and helpful. Only downside really was that you can hear people closing doors/talking in the corridors from your room

I like the friendly staff and the location. I don't like the small dusty room. Also, my room was heading the street, and I couldn't sleep some nights due to drunk & party people shouting at it. This led to headaches and poor business performance for me.

Stayed two nights on a trip to a carshow. Bathrooms could use update, but both rooms were relatively clean, no complaints about that. Though, I did leave do not disturb sign on the door on morning, but still they came in and changed towels and bedsheets. Maybe not ideal, or safest, area to walk around at nighttime alone, but we did not have any problems. Lots of restaurants, public transportation and several parking garages with in walking distance. No trafic noises as no trafic is allowed to the Viehofer str.
