Price/ Quality for the room a bit expensive , but we like that it is nearby the centre one and a half minute walk. That is pleasant.

Positives: good location, very near Hbf. Bedroom décor simple but fine and nice and clean. Slight negatives: Exterior very dated, inside is much more modern but still in a dated building. Bathrooms clean but a bit dated. Worked fine though, plenty of hot water, shower good etc. Lift is old and wheezy. Internet access was a bit random, but worked eventually, and had a good download speed

Perfectly Fine

The Center Hotel Essen is a perfectly fine place to stay if you need a last minute bed to sleep in, as I did. I don't think I would want to stay there for an extended trip. It's a couple blocks down from the train station; not the nicest part of town, but within walking distance to some restaurants and shops. The staff at check-in were very friendly and efficient; at check-out there was a little wait for someone to arrive at the front desk, but nothing egregious and she was clearly busy. The room was a standard Ikea sort, but comfortable enough. The free Wi-Fi worked better than other hotels where I've recently stayed, there was a kettle, and the bed was firm and clean. The bathroom was the low point. Let's just say the toilet was poorly designed. I believe free breakfast was included, but I didn't make time for it, so can't comment on it's quality.

Einfaches Hotel, sehr nettes Personal

Ich war nur kurz dort. Das Hotel ist direkt in einer größeren Straße am HBF Essen, was sehr praktische der auch sehr laut ist. Mich hat das nicht sonderlich gestört. Leider ist zur Zeit nebenan eine Baustelle, aber auch das für mich persönlich kein Problem. Das Zimmer war sehr günstig, dafür auch sehr klein, aber völlig ausreichend. Leider hat der Fernseher nicht funktioniert, da das Kabel kaputt war. Die Sauberkeit war ausreichend, nur war es unterm Bett sehr dreckig, was ich aber schon in vielen Hotels erlebt habe. Würde mich freuen, wenn dort auch gesaugt oder gewischt würde, gerade für Hausstauballerigiker*innen sehr wichtig. Für mich war das Hotel für meinen Kurztrip super. Preis-Leistung perfekt. Würde nochmal in das Hotel gehen.
