I stayed at a similar place before and had a great experience. Based on the reviewsI decided to try something different . Overall, my experience was OK, but not great.
When I arrived, the driver dropped us off at the spa instead of the check-in area. I contacted the front desk to ask if they could send a car or golf cart, but they said they were understaffed and could not. They expected us to walk about 300 meters. Normally that wouldn’t be an issue, but walking uphill on a dirt road in nice clothes while dragging luggage isn’t ideal. I called the driver back who took us to check-in. Not a good first impression .
The rooms were nice but smaller than at the other place. I was told there was a Jacuzzi available, but it required about 30 minutes’ notice so they could heat it. At the other property, the Jacuzzi is hot and open 24/7, which I prefer. The restaurant is good but expensive—the least expensive bottle of wine is 950 pesos (about $55). Other places in wine country offer good selections at lower prices.
I paid for two nights but left after one and returned to the place I prefer. I didn’t expect a refund, but asked. This place is nice and the food is good, but there are better options.
