The room was clean, it had a fridge & coffee maker, and the bathroom was spacious. I was there for one night and Motel Ely was perfect for.a one night stopover.

Convenient place to crash before / after time in the BWCA. Design of building limits air circulation in rooms, and arrangement of rooms around parking lot ensures everyone hears everything.

Loved this place and would definitely stay again! Owner was very friendly and helpful. Only complaint was the strong smell of fragrance which we guessed was maybe carpet powder because it didn’t really dissipate despite us trying to air it out.

Very cute property. The bed was very comfortable, one of the best motel beds I’ve been in! Front desk was super kind and welcoming. My only ‘issue’ was the shower… it would go from an ideal temperature to scalding hot, back to normal, and then to freezing cold and back to normal repeatedly. Other than that it was a great stay and I would definitely go back.

Loved the aesthetic of the hotel. Was very clean. I arrived after 10pm for check-in, I called ahead to let them know and they had my key waiting for me and a sweet note welcoming me. After driving four and a half hours to come to a ready room late and that was so clean was a delight. It was a quiet area and across the street was a gas station, so it was nice to grab a few things so close to our stay. Will be back.

We received a warm welcome from the owner who chatted away about what was going on in town, places to eat & things to do. Our room was spotless & bed comfy. We loved Ely, the Wolf & Bear Centers & perusing the shops of Sheridan Street. I even had a dip at Semer’s Beach on recommendation.
