This place was spacious, comfortable, and an excellent value for the price. We really enjoyed our stay, and I would definitely come back. However, there are a few things I wish I had known before booking.
First, there is no staff on the property. The check-in process was simple and handled over the phone, but I was driving and didn't see the messages with the instructions beforehand, which caused some confusion when we arrived.
Another thing to keep in mind is how secluded the property is. During our stay, there was only one other family there, and the resort is truly in the middle of the woods and mountains. I felt safe because my husband was with me, but if I had been traveling with only a group of girlfriends, I might not have felt quite as comfortable.
We also didn't realize how far the nearest store was. We arrived without water or snacks and had to drive about 15 minutes to a very small gas station. I understand that's part of staying in a remote mountain area, but it still caught me by surprise. When I think of a "resort," I usually expect at least a small convenience store on-site or nearby.
Overall, this is a great place to stay, and I would absolutely return. I just wanted to share a few details that might help future guests plan ahead and know what to expect.
