El Cedro Vacations

I was scammed by the hotel and Expedia. I paid for an ocean-view room, the most expensive one available, and when I got to the room the air conditioning and the fan weren't working. Additionally, there was no phone, so to complain I had to walk to reception more than three times, and they never resolved the problem. When I couldn't take it anymore and complained loudly, the hotel told me they couldn't fix the air conditioning and that they had to move me to a lower-priced room. I immediately told them I paid for the ocean view, and it was the most expensive room. If they couldn't give me the same type of room, then I should get a refund. The hotel staff confirmed that I would, and that since I had booked through Expedia, I should contact Expedia and request a refund for the price difference. Almost a month has passed, and Expedia just keeps saying the hotel didn't approve the refund. I truly feel cheated. Nowhere in the world is it legal to give a customer less than what they pay for; it's illegal, and I feel Expedia doesn't manage its relationships with hotels properly. I will begin the appropriate legal action to exercise my rights. The worst part is the hotel and Expedia.

Everything was great. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent.

I was here for 8 days 7 nights and the resort was very dirty . I came here with my family and 2 of my brother's with there families and 1 of my brother's had 2 change his room 2 times do to cockroaches in his room . It was a dirty facility and room cleaning was horrible. I will never book at another vacation at a Riu facility again . All families were very disappointed with the cleanliness, food and amenities. Also the front desk was horrible if you needed anything or had a problem .

Stuff was not friendly. They weren’t helpful for reserving restaurant. They were acting like they helped but they charged for every extras
