What a beautiful place to stay. Such a beautiful building on the Un. of Edinburgh campus with two wonderful restaurants available. Not far from The Royal Mile, yet far enough away for peace and quiet.

This is a lovely and comfortable hotel. The beds are comfortable with good linens to provide a good night’s sleep. The bathroom was roomy with an excellent shower. The hotel itself is charming and beautiful. The staff were pleasant and genuinely helpful. The menu was limited but the food was quite good. Overall a really good experience and would stay here again.

The building is gorgeous, the room spacious and so comfortable, but the staff is the standout here. Cheerful, helpful, and so accommodating. They made the trip for us. The breakfast is amazing - enough to carry you through lunch and beyond. The hotel is a wee bit off the beaten track if you’re wishing to be on the Royal Mile every day, but the local bus service is excellent and you are in the midst of everything within 15-20 minutes. Thank you for everything. It was a treat.

Beautiful and classic. Loved everything except for having to lug heavy bags down the stairs. A staff member was kind enough to carry up for us when we arrived, but no one answered the phone when we called early in the AM for help to carry bags down. The bed was super comfortable, breakfast was wonderful and the decor/ambiance was magical. Loved it!

Wonderful stay. The building is lovely and has the perfect, Scottish Country Estate feel. The bar is cozy, the breakfast delicious and all the staff are warm and welcoming. The location is very walkable from downtown Edinburgh - about 20 minutes or a quick, inexpensive Uber ride if the weather breaks. We would absolutely stay again.
