It was overall a pleasant stay in the residence. The staff, most especially Romik were warm and welcoming. I even got a room upgrade which I highly appreciated not to mention the comfty bed! Location is also convenient as you have direct buses that can take you to the city center. I highly recommend staying at this accommodation.
Really pleased with my stay. Upgraded me from single room to double. Staff couldnt have been more helpful. There was a problem with the water supply in room so they moved me to a better room. Comfortable bed, great size room, lovely and quiet, good sleep, breakfast was good. Free parking. Bus stop to get all over Edinburgh and back, right across the road. For what I paid it was excellent. Thank you!
Great stay in Edinburgh! The host was super friendly, the room had everything we needed, and the connection to the city was good. Would definitely stay here again.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Our host was most welcoming and the property and rooms clean and tidy.
Second time staying here, as I have family in Gilmerton. Great, convenient spot. Kind and friendly service. I've never attended breakfast so I cannot accommodate on that. The only downside is thin walls, so you can hear everything. On the flip side, both times I have stayed, it's never been fully booked. Would happily return!
Lovely property and very close to bus stops. Outstanding customer service! Overall amazing, would definitely come back.

The people who run the Abbey are lovely! Very nice service indeed. We had a good stay there. About 15 minutes drive from centre of Edinburgh, very convenient and easy to get to. Place a bit run down but still comfortable and clean.
The Abbey is in a great location… about 20 mins drive from Edinburgh. The service was very good and the proprietors were lovely and offered great service. Breakfast was excellent. While the accommodation is basic it was clean and we were very comfortable there. TV also had Netflix which was great. A good place to stay if you’re on a budget and want to be close enough to Edinburgh to enjoy it without the expense and crowds!
This hotel is on a bus route straight into city and was definitely a great value for money option. It has a new owner who is working hard to make it a great destination. He was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good too - small buffet but fresh and tasty. I’d definitely stay again.
They are under new management and are a bit rough around the edges, that said, the room was brighgt and clean and the new mattress was fantastic, I got such a nights sleep. Ramik went out of his way accommodate any request, so kind and friendly.
We surely enjoyed our stay at the Abbey Residence.. my family and I had a blast especially with their customer service.. shout out to Niko the owner and Romick his close friend for taking care of us. We will definitely recommend this cozy and beautiful place. Will surely come back. You guys are very much appreciated.. thank you for everything! ♥️

Traffic noise all night. Staff lovely nothing too much trouble for them. Extremely helpful and professional
I very much enjoyed my stay at the Abbey Residence. The highlight of it all is of course the people. Hosts insisted on doing anything in their power to make your stay exceptional. All the advice on how to plan the stay and sightseeing in Edinburgh or in other areas made the experience much more easier and relaxed and very comfortable. It's not like it's ideal place on Earth, it's close to one of the main streets in the area so if you're sensitive to noise just remember your earplugs. I very much hope to be back sooner than later. Thanks for the lovely time!

Staff were friendly and breakfast was served nicely. Rooms were appointed well. Close to airport. Sheets were not fresh/clean. Window did not close. Hard to stand up in bathroom. Toilet function was a challenge. Front door was locked and buzzer needed to alert staff to open. No lobby, just breakfast eating area. Advertised as three star not two star as it clearly was. Remote location of ‘motel’ to shops.
Friendly staff and good location with free parking
If you are looking for somewhere to stay on a budget just out of central Edinburgh this property is in a good location with buses every 15-20 mins to edinburgh. It typically took us 45 mins door to door to anywhere we were going in the centre and parking was free which was really helpful. I wanted to make a special shout out to the host that we dealt with throughout our stay, I’m so sorry but I don’t believe we exchanged names, but I know that he is originally from India. He was very respectful and friendly and told us interesting stories about his journey. He also let me use the bathroom at 8pm before driving back home - a small thing but greatly appreciated thank you!
