It was ok. I overpaid heavily for the stay. Was showing $164 euros a night when I paid $255 a night. The terrace was pretty. Location was ok, not as good as the old town or new town but, an easy uber. Staff was not kind my first day and then got better the second day. Bed was comfy.

We spent two weeks at the Voco Royal Terrace and loved the experience! The King Suite was huge; king size bed, pull out sofa bed, seating area with a sectional couch, built-in wardrobe with hanging spaces and drawers, beautiful bathroom with separate tub and shower. The housekeeping amenities were lovely and included free cans of water plus shortbread cookies and Tunnock caramel bars daily. Food quality was good and the terrace outside was stunning. All staff we encountered was lovely and so helpful. We plan to stay here again next time we come!

Our entire family stayed at the voco Edinburgh Royal Terrace on the front and back end of a ten day trip through Scotland. We really enjoyed this property and would definitely stay there again. Lovely, quiet street, walkable to historic city center, large comfortable rooms, some with gorgeous garden views, wonderful breakfast and bar. Staff was very helpful all the time, with Lewis being a particular favorite. :) Overall a great choice for a visit to incredible Edinburgh.

I am currently backpacking around the UK and I needed a good nights sleep after a long travel day. When I arrived with my big backpack and sweatshirt on the two people at the front desk gave each other a weird look and I had to say hello first and they asked what I wanted. I stated I had a room reserved and they instantly changed demeanors. Other than that, the room and the grounds were lovely and I got the good nights sleep that I needed. The location is great but be warned a lot of uphill walking haha

Overall a positive experience although the standard room was small, barely a foot between the end of the bed and the wall. The room was showing some signs of wear and tear but was comfortable. It felt very compact for the price (and this was with a 25% discount), but that probably says more about the Edinburgh market post the short term let self-catering purge, and the resulting funnelling of profit to the large hotel chains. The hotel bar closed at 9:30pm which is early, although there are many options within 5-10 minutes walk. Breakfast was a good selection. All staff members were great and ready to assist as required.

Good location close to Holyrood and fairly easy walk up to the Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle. Nice and quiet and gorgeous backyard. Rooms are small, but I guess typical for the age of the building. no plug for CPAP needed an extension cord.

Clean room, comfy beds, safe location within walking distance to most major sites and restaurants. My 3 daughters and I just used our room as a place to sleep and shower, as we were in the city most of the day. No one-site parking. We used the Omni parking garage and walked uphill to our hotel. Breakfast buffet was worth the price paid for it. We would recommend this hotel for any family staying in Edinburgh.
