The property is safe and walkable and close to Princes street. Very clean, charming suites/studios but keep in mind this is a very old building made into apart/hotel so it has no elevator and nothing is straight. Cracks in the plaster can’t be helped. The hallways and entry are somewhat dreary but have motion lights to help. Walking up 7 flights of stairs to a 3rd floor room was tricky. Wouldn’t recommend if you can’t do stairs. Nice restaurants and pubs around. Highly recommend the Witherspoon Alexander Graham Bell just around the corner on George street for great food, great drinks and great prices!

Convenient Location but lots of stairs and no lift

The room itself was lovely and fitted out well. Photo are very accurate of the rooms. Can be noisy. No reception area or lift and lots of stairs! Be careful if you have heavy bags or are physically unfit. Be aware if you book through hotels.com, then Altido don't have your email address to send the pre-check information and code to get into the building. This took a few hours to sort out which was frustrating.

Would stay again

Small one bed apartment. Has all the basics you need but not sure would be comfortable enough to cook in or spend much time in. We just used a a base at it was perfect, great location, plenty of restaurants near by. Not enough lighting so room is quite dark. No key, code used to get in

Apartment at 30 castle street was lovely. Overall clean and perfect for a couple stay. Would definitely recommend to others.

This would have been a great place to stay except that it is basically on top of an extremely noisy bar and with a garden patio right below our window. We were kept awake until 2 in the morning by loud repetitive music, even ear plugs were ineffective . On top of that, every time someone in the building used a tap, there was a very loud pump that turned on, and this happened all through the night and in the early hours. Easily the worst hotel stay we've ever had.
