Great stay, would gladly stay here again.

Friendly staff, excellent service. We thought the restaurant here was very good! The room was comfortable and nice. Not super high end but overall a good value. Great location on the beach, which was quiet and calm when we were there. We did not swim in the pool but it looked nice. We would definitely stay here again.

Very relaxing setting in classic hotel with beautiful gardens, great pool, delicious food, and friendly service. The hot spring water is soft and soothing. Clean swim-able beaches with all the amenities.

Lovely spot beautiful beach and pool and nice uograded room with little fridge. Food was delicious. We had a car so drove into Los barrilos and todo santos la Paz Santiago etc all from there on day trips.

If you’re looking for perfect, this is not your place. If you want a relaxing quiet vacation with the odd imperfection then this is your place! The staff is amazing, the food is fantastic. Overall it’s quiet and relaxing with your standard amenities. We would definitely come back.

Staff were wonderful, the hot tub of mineral water was superb, the pool a bit chilly but delightful. Their taco Tuesday is not to be missed. And the beach is gorgeous and clean, with nice lounging furniture. The only odd note is the parts of the property that are in a state of decay— a convention center, another pool and hot tub that are decommissioned.

Beds were comfortable and location on the beach is great. We had a hammock right outside our patio door. However, the bathroom needed lots of love and the hotel restaurant, while it served good food, was quite expensive.

Pleasant Place to Chill

Taco Tuesday was excellent! And the staff brought me a sandwich/chips/apple at 5 am so I could have some food on a day with an early start. The grounds are impressive and expansive, the beach quite pleasant. Rooms are nicely decorated, but a bit cramped if two are staying in a room and you have a fair bit of luggage.

quiet BEAUTIFUL resort

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place. Will be my "go to" spot from now on. It's not a high-rise super luxury hotel, but a BEAUTIFUL resort with a WONDERFUL pool, and a HOT TUB fed by natural hot springs. Then there's your own private beach from which we saw whales just sitting there. And the food was amazing. The locals even come for the food it's so good. Just 2 mins outside of downtown Los Barriles means it's super QUIET but loads to do like pickle-ball, pool, ping-pong, yoga and cooking classes, and massages. Thank you Buena Vista! We'll be back!

If there os nobody in the room next to you then you are fine but if you have neighbors then the noise from next door is terrible It is very beat up hotel

The hotel is definitely a bit dated but it is clean and funky. The restaurant is absolutely fantastic (don’t miss Taco Tuesday!!) but every meal was yummy and good value! The beach is lovely and the hot spring spa pool is to die for— just be sure to check the schedule so you know when it is really hot from the refilling. The people who stayed here were also great and a fun vibe and the locals come to eat so you get a great mix of people. The staff was nice and friendly and they even have happy hour! They provide fresh spring water so you don’t have to buy it all the time!! Didn’t play pickleball here but the courts were new and in good shape— unfortunately they do charge you to play. Overall a really great place and value for the money!

Find a different hotel in Los Barriles

Please do yourself a favor and spend your money on a different hotel in Los Barriles which is a very close drive away. This is NOT a $200/night hotel — or at least shouldn’t be. I’m an avid, oftentimes solo traveler & rarely am I disappointed in my stays because I do my homework. This place had some mixed reviews, so I took a chance. Unfortunately. First, it’s a pain in the butt to find. There address is super wonky with Google maps & Apple directions. But I did finally find it. Unfortunately. Woman at reception put a $200 incidental hold on my card for a 1 night stay for 1 person in Mexico. Property is fine, but rooms are incredibly outdated, feel dingy & definitely didn’t feel secure. The door on my 1st room didn’t lock from outside. Woman at reception kept arguing it was key. It wasn’t — it was the door. Took 45 minutes to move me to 2nd equally depressing room. Walls are paper thin & place is full of seniors who loud talk & sound like they all have emphysema. You have to take a laminated card to the bar to retrieve your pool towel & bring towel back to swap for card. This is ridiculous at this price. There is NO wifi. Not by the pool or in the restaurant as advertised. NONE. I finally had to go pay 100 pesos to get a modem for my room. Again, ridiculous. Food was okay. Definitely over-priced & restaurant is equally depressing. Someone should buy this property and give it a full makeover. It might have been nice 30 years ago, but not now.
