Aquila D Hotel is named after a sailing boat and is very comfortable with a friendly, helpful staff. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with adequate choices.

Very nice hotel, especially for the price. We have stayed at dozens of hotels this year, and Aquila D is one of the best. I can only think of one that was better, and that one was twice the money and breakfast wasn't included. The breakfast buffet here is very good, not quite a "full English breakfast" but much better than what you get in America. Hotels in Spain and France with breakfast buffets like this one charge an extra 15 Euros per person, on top of the room price. The rooms are modern, the hotel has a lift, there's a front desk with actual people there (unlike some other hotels I could mention) and they are nice and friendly. Our bed was very comfortable. Our room had air conditioning, a big TV, and a mini fridge. The location is very convenient, just a block from the bus terminal. The neighborhood is walkable, with lots of shops and restaurants and three grocery stores within 1 km. The beach is less than 2 km away, and there's a city bus stop right in front of the hotel which takes you to the beach for 40 Lekë. The street is sometimes busy and a bit noisy but I hardly noticed it from inside the hotel. Don't expect room service, or free champagne, or a swimming pool, or a massage. It's just a hotel, not a spa resort.

The Aquila D is good value for money with a convenient location near the city center of Durres. Staff is friendly but the breakfast options could be more diverse and healthier. The bed and pillows were comfortable and facilities new.
