The Krujë Castle was the fortress that helped George Kastrioti Skanderbeg defend Albania from the Ottoman troops that attacked it three times, in 1450, 1466 and 1467, but failed each time. Not only did Skanderberg stop the Ottomans from taking control of Albania, but maybe stopped them from controlling all of Europe. The castle museum is one of the better we have visited. Definitely worth the visit and the shopping streets below the castle are a treat to walk through.

We are sailing along the coast of Albania and stopped in the major shipping port of Durres. The only space was next to the tugs and along the wall the container ships come to. If a ship arrives we will have to move....but until then this is pretty cool!
