I enjoyed my stay at travel lodge Durham but the room charge was excessive for the hotel.
All the staff were very helpful and deserve praise for efficiency and friendliness
Good location. Spacious room and good value for money but it feels a bit unnecessary to only give 30 minutes free wi-fi and ask people to pay after that.
Pleasant helpful staff, basic accommodation , fixed wall shower, so not as good to clean yourself properly, or for staff to clean the shower, a few hairs stuck on the shower wall and towels smelt funny. Like they’d been hung up to dry in a kitchen, fine and quiet, would be good to have a little shop area with some toiletries, sanitary wear etc and a bell/ buzzer would be helpful for the reception, if there aren’t any staff in there, although, someone did come quickly when I shouted through.

The sink was not clean: hair and beard.
Not breakfast was possible
For the price I paid I expected much more. The hotel didnt even look like a hotel with the entrance around the corner and no reception area.
The room was very spacious and the bed was comfortable but I could hear people walking above at night.
There were no toiletries in the bathroom and internet was free for 30 minutes. If you wanted more time it was £3
I expected better for the price
I come with my husband only for a one night as was our sons graduation.
Check in was fast.
We were staying in the annex building room 104.
Upon entering i could smell dump no smell of cleanliness Frome outside you could hear traffic all night.
In the bathroom shower gel disposal hard to use, no shampoo.
Very disappointed. When we come back from dinner our room key didn't work we went back to reception ( empty,)
Waiting for anybody from the staff to appear for about 10min.
Will never stay at travelodge again.
Convenient for Durham Cory with added advantage of free parking.

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service
- room stank of vinegar
- reception staff weren’t about. we’d been left for 15 minutes before someone appeared and then we never saw the receptionist again for the rest of the stay
- windows don’t open leading to a very hot and stuffy room
- no charging sockets near to the bed

Fine for a one night stay. 20 minute walk to the University and town.
Staff were courteous. Room carpet very very dirty and stained. bathroom toilet holder too close to the seat causing discomfort / crimp. car park poorly designed and at a slant.
My stay was generally very good. The only small gripe was a bit of confusion over the exit. The road markings had been worn away and it wasn't easy to see where to go.

I was only one night so I didn’t care too much but it was good if you want an economic option to stay
