Beautiful property, lovely gardens.
Breakfast was amazing - great mushrooms!
Bed was huge and comfortable.
Staff were fab - very helpful.
Only downside is no door between the bathroom and bedroom - so very little privacy.
This place is amazing! Although the signage to the entrance is not easy to see, you can argue that it is discreet and in keeping with the property; the location on Google and Hotels.com was accurate too. What a beautiful house, fabulous service, spacious and well equipped rooms and marvellous breakfast. And wonderful spaniels. Definitely bringing my wife with me next time!
Our stay at Burnhopeside Hall was one of our most memorable ever. Christine, our hostess, was delightful and helpful. The room was spacious and the surroundings could not have been more grand. This is a stately old home, full of beautiful furniture and dishes, near sheep pastures and the river. While there, we walked the yard and fields behind the house, went down to the river, accompanied by Barney and Spencer (the Burnhopeside dogs!). Breakfast was delicious and elegantly presented. This was a memorable stay!!
Went up north for niece's wedding, booked online and delighted with high quality bed /breakfast.
The accommodation was just off the beaten track ,nice and quiet.
Breakfast was a full english (local produce)and a variety of cereals .
Christine was the perfect host with her two spaniels.
Highly recommended.
Beautiful home - not the usual ‘hotel’ feel, more like being a guest in a home. Beautiful house and extensive grounds. Christine was so friendly and helpful. The pot of tea on the patio on arrival was a wonderful touch.
Beautiful house in quiet location . Very warm welcome . Such a comfortable nights stay with delicious breakfast . Grounds and house are super . Highly recommend
We had an excellent 2 night stay with Christine at Burnhopeside Hall. The house is charming, the breakfasts are excellent, and the dogs are very friendly. Beautiful gardens and a very convenient spot for Durham, the Sunderland coast, and beyond. Many thanks for the lovely hospitality
We had a very relaxing two night stay. Food was very good and beautiful surroundings. We had a warm welcome from the owners and would definitely recommend this hotel. Also very dog friendly if you are travelling with your companion.
Absolutely wonderful place to stay the best of everything! The breakfast was delicious with home grown meat and eggs.
Barney the spaniel was a total delight. Christine so kind in every way, we loved all the rooms.
